The worst song is still Bug!

The essence of my live Phish experiences has been "Tweezer" (the song I have seen the most times).

During the first hiatus, I realized that I really want to see "Glide".

And then during the second hiatus, I developed an addiction to "Harpua".

EsthersDoll Permalink
EsthersDoll I love many, many Phish songs, too many to list and too many to even attempt to count (at least not without ZZYZX's help.)

But Stash will always have a very special place in my heart because that is the first song I recall hearing, live or otherwise. It was the first Phish song that grabbed a hold of my heart and said, pay attention, there is something very special going on here.

I find that quality in many other Phish songs too, but I distinctly remember that first time and it was quite magical and I have Stash to thank for it.

I really can't call it my favorite or even the best. I think Phish is really too diverse in many ways to have a "best" anyhow. Maybe if you qualified it, like what is the best romantic Phish song? Or the best jammy Phish song, or the best slow Phish song, or the best one that draws crowd participation. But to me, Phish can't have a single best song. It's like asking do you like breathing in or breathing out better to me and in that sense I like both and without one, I can't enjoy the other.
