Hi everybody,

I'm a phish noob and phish.net noob stopping into say hello to the Phish online community! Long story short, my first show was an extremely spur-of-the-moment Saturday last summer at The Gorge on 8/8/09. Prior to that night (which changed my life) I could name maybe one Phish tune. Now I'm filling up every last megabyte of space on my ipod with phish tapes and spending hours in front of my computer wearing headphones and drinking beer, soaking up the live streams of every show I can... Not that this would surprise any of you, I'm sure.

Anyways, that's my story, and I'm so glad to have been thrust into such epic music and such a great community of people.

P.S. If anyone has any leads on finding a recording of the show Phish played on my birthday (2/1/1990) I would be very appreciative... They were opening for Widespread at The Georgia Theater in Athens, GA that night and played a set that, needless to say, I'd very much like to hear! Thanks again.

wow, 2/1/90. i did some cross referencing.......my old school phish almanac (which is stupidly out of date.....it ends at island tour!!!!), then i checked this site......(wait that makes no sense at all...) the boys opened for panic.....ohh how things have changed. ok, my point is that i cant find a link for your show anywhere. you might have to trade a tape!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha. good luck friend!

Same thing happened to me. Went to my firt Phish show at the Paradise on 11-30-89. Didn't know a song and I was never the same.

I saw two shows from the tour you referenced 2-16-90 & 2-17-90. My buddy and I didn't realize that there was an opening act...Widespread Panic. We sat in the front road and shouted things like..."Get off the Stage!"...."This isn't Phish!"...."We want Phish!". To this day I still can't Listen to WP. Needless to say, I didn't make the same mistake at the UMass show the next night.

Kind of a funny side note: I was reading through the Phish FAQ on type I, II, and III jams, and I found a reference to Bozeman Tweezer 11/28/94. I had no idea Phish played in the field house at MSU in Bozeman, where I now go to college! What are the chances that they'd come back for another 45 minute monster? I would be there without a doubt.
