Super Powered Thumbs Up?

johnnyd Phish.net Staff Permalink
johnnyd So a couple times in the last few days I've doubled my points on a thumbs up. I just pushed someone from 0 to 2 with 1 vote in the TTE thread, and I recently cast one vote pushing someone from -1 to +1 in 1 fell swoop.

Has this happened to anyone else or do I just have super-manly-macho-awesome thumbs?

Or perhaps its more mundane, like someone else voted up since I refreshed?

/Who's psyched for October?

Or maybe its some kind of zen thing where it won't work if you try to make your thumb give double points. Once you forget about it your double thumb powers may return.

johnnyd OK, I just got my double powered thumbs mojo back - twice in the last 2 days!
Both times, there's no way someone else voted up in between when I clicked on the thread and voted, the thumb was quick! I clicked into the thread and almost instantly voted up. Plus these were at off times when there wasnt a lot of activity in the forum.
This is madness! It must be all the extra phish juice phlowing through my veins from Manchester and 10/30!
My thumbs are too strong, thats my problem right there!

Seriously, has this happened to anyone else?

yoursongtoo I think you've taken some of my mojo from me. I have the opposite problem - about half of my votes aren't registering. And considering karma points spell a life or death verdict, I'm gravely concerned. Please fix this before I go on a massive vote-down rampage.

sethadam1 After a comment goes up by two, refresh and see if it actually counted the thumbs as two or the display just incremented by 2.

I'm trying to hunt down why certain bits of our scripts are executing twice (the annoying but with the italicize, etc). I can't seem to find a problem.

johnnyd @sethadam1 - Not sure what you mean - the difference between the display and the count. Do you mean the display as whats showing on the current page and the count as the display after the page is refreshed? When I have refreshed, the display has remained up 2....

There is no comment in the database that you have modded twice. You may see it go up two, but may that's because someone else modded it in the meantime.

Happened to me twice in the past 2 or 3 days. Then I feel bad because it was supposed to be +1... And usually it asks "are you sure you want to -1?" To prevent that from happening... Weird. Lots of strange happenings on .net these days
