Utica Ticket Stubs

bouncintophish Permalink
bouncintophish According to Phish on facebook there was a problem with the scanners at the venue and they collected all ticket stubs. For those that collect stubs to shows they attended, this sounds like a real bummer.

Here's the post:
" Due to ticket scanner failure at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, on Wed. 10/20, ticket stubs were collected. In short, ticket holders no longer have their barcodes to redeem their free MP3s at LivePhish.com. Phish Tickets and TicketMaster will be emailing every Utica ticket holder a new download code. Please use the new code to get your free Utica MP3."

cliff_huxtable Any extra codes? I went to Augusta and Utica... someone managed to use my Augusta code (?), and obviously my stub in Utica got manhandled. Since I purchased both my tickets from people locally, I won't be getting an email with a phresh code. 2 PTBM tickets, zero downloading possibilities!

forbins0218 I noticed that last night, and so bought the show. I remember thinking "man they are actually tearing my ticket? Old school" and also "I wonder how many bogus tickets got people in" .

if anyone was at the show and lost the bar code for the free download due to the ticket tearing, I would be happy to share it with you. I do not think that is breaking the rules? After all it was said we would have the show for free. Anyways. if someone is against me doing this let me know. Shoot me a PM if you are for or against this in any way.

chris_22 Yeah, I will have another one too. I was one of the first in, and the scanners were working. So they didn't tear my ticket. I'll have an extra, but if its against the rules, then I won't do it. I thought I remember a little bit ago this was brought up and I think it was verified that it was ok to trade codes?

They didn't take the whole ticket, just ripped the barcode off like they used to do back in the day, leaving you the stub. So people who collect them still have them. The problem is the lack of the barcode number to collect your free mp3 copy of the show from LivePhish.

jackl As best as we can figure out, the codes *are* transferable if they haven't been redeemed (when they won't work). They are part of the ticket purchase price, and the ticketholder "owns" the codes related to the ticket. So under usual legal concepts, you own the download to give away or even sell, unless it's prohibited (like on the tiny type on the back of the ticket, which is silent as to LP downloads).

So while the advice is "unofficial" (like anything you read on this phan site LOL), the best legal minds at Phish.net agree that you can trade or give away download codes related to your own Phish tickets.

Check your emails from yesterday. Our Utica tickets came from PTBM (lottery) and we got an email yesterday around 6 PM from "stash@livephish.com" with the subject "Your Utica Ticket Comes with Free MP3s"; the email repeated the problem with the scanners at Utica and provided free replacement codes and instructions and links to LP.com to redeem them for the download.

If you bought the tickets from someone else, check with them for the codes (or ask around the forum...a lot of people have two codes for a couple but only need one download, like my wife and me).

We upgraded the free .mp3s to Apple Lossless (.m4a - iTunes) for $5, a really nice option BTW...this is a show you really want to have a top quality download of!

cliff_huxtable Show was so good. An extra code would be appreciated! PM me or my email is gratefuldead710@gmail.com. I'll post to the thread if I get one.

Thanks Phish.netters. I was telling my friends over the last few days that P.net is where it's at, and this is a perfect example of why.

theDividedSam Kind of kicking myself here, but I was super impatient and just paid for the show on livephish so I could listen to it in studio yesterday. Got my barcode e-mail today, but I already have the show, so whoever pm's me first with an e-mail addy I'll forward it to you :)

I must have sat and stared at my ticket stub for half an hour willing it to have a barcode!

My friend ordered the tickets through ticketbastard so she was the only one to get an email with the new code. I emailed livephish.com explaining that even though there was two tickets purchased, only one code was sent for download. Within minutes, I received an email with a code for download. What a sick show
