NYE Run: Distinct song count

12Next →View All

bryAnarchy Permalink
bryAnarchy This is a simple game.

Guess how many distinct songs Phish will play during the 2010/2011 NYE run.

I believe they are slated to play 11 sets of music?
How many distinct songs do you think they'll play?

The winner(s) will receive a small gift package from myself filled with content YTBD.

NOTE: The song count will be determined by the number of distinct individual "tracks" available for purchase on livephish dot com.

Example 1: If you look at the available download of 10/30/2010, the distinct track count for that night would be 27 (Chalkdust and Tweezer would both count as 1 distinct track).

Example 2: When they play light on 12/27 and 12/31 only the first light will count.

Good Luck!

johnnyd Trick question: What if 2 different songs result in a "---> Jam" on the track listing? E.g. it appears once in 12/27 and once on 12/30. Would the Jam be counted twice? (My vote would be yes...)
Either way, I'm going with...

...big money, no whammies...

109.

Don't press your luck :-)
Seriously though, good question. In that scenario, let's count that as two distinct tracks.
Hopefully, livephish will help us out by labeling the 'jams' distinctly (DCU jam, MSG jam, jammy jam).

Phish1 I'm going on the high end, given the nature of this year's tours so far (lesser "deep" jams).

IenjoyMyself So heres my math...they average roughly 22 songs per show including encores. 5 shows including one with three sets so I'm going to say that show gets around 27 songs.

Ill say there will be 7-10 repeats.

I'm going with 100 distinct songs
