Correction he's been to all but 6 shows since Thanksgiving 94 besides that stint in jail, which he did to save one of our dear friends from going to jail. If this story is true he deserves less flack IMO. But yeah he's a genuine front row hog, at least a narcissist, possibly a sociopath, but won't bother you if he gets to have his front row center space (just left of Trey).
I've been seeing him at shows for years, was there in 2003 at Deer Creek when Trey made the shout out to him before his jail time, met him in AC, stayed at the same hotel as him in Worcester, we've spoken numerous times. He's totally approachable outside of shows...I just think constant drug use has permanently warped him.
Again, if you ever try to grab front row center...just give the man his space.

He told me he doesn't come online anymore because people are too mean here.
The fact is, he has screamed at yelled and threatend both men and woman calling woman c***s, making them cry...anyone who touches him or gets in his space, het gets nasty. That's why he's become so infamous in the community. He used to tape off a large square front row center and explain to everyone around him not to cross the lines. He's not quite as aggressive anymore but he did ask me at least 10 times on 10/30/10 to give him more room....he had the space of 2-3 people, and I was as smooshed as can be...and he wanted more room.

I can dance wild myself...he gets teased for his dancing but that wouldn't happen if he was nicer to people, that's what started it all. Threatening strangers and woman especially, just so wrong.

I was 100% with the people saying "dont hate" until i actually meet the guy. Front row at manchester. i entered the venue as the doors opened and made my way to the floor.

Great video man...pretty much sums it up!Been seeing Greg at shows (rather, noticing him) since 96-ish. Never really had much of an issue with him until I saw him pulling the, "don't you know who I am act" a few times. Making "friends" with people and cutting in front of lines to get on the rail (ahem). I'm not cool with that. That, coupled with the hostility and trending towards physically dangerous equals not fun. You're just like every one of us dude. I wouldn't go so far as to call him a sociopath (a term that folks tend to throw around a bit much)...narcissistic tendencies, sure. Who doesn't have those?

Didn't Trey say getting arrested saved his life? If anything he should get more flack for being an enabler.

He's incredibly selfish and definetely a narcissist, he admitted this to me AC night 2 after I called him on it for messing with my girlfriend and I. BPD is a scary thing (is narcissim still classified under BPD?)....sociopath is tossed around too much I'm guilty of this. He'd have to literally not be capable of love and have 0 ability for remorse, and I think he loves Phish way too much for this accusation to be accurate.
Also I'm very fond of Applebees new england clam chowder. It's not the place you'd think would have that special heady chowder, but they do a great job.

He's got a lot of friends with some clout like him who are all pretty intense and they look out for each other. Friend told me if a few of us invaded his space and crowded him out we'd probably get a beat down in the parking lot.

Grow up, get over it. He's been a dick, he's mellowed a bit, but he's still regularly a dick. I've you've met him or shared rail space with him (as I have), he's both obnoxious and helpful. If you've encroached on his space, he's an ass. Quit the rumor mongering. He's no more entitled to "his space" than anyone, just as no one else is any more entitled to be a dick to him because of his reputation. If you meet him, be cordial, but don't put up with his shit. Don't continue to make this an issue. It's less of one lately, but the more it is perpetuated online, the more people treat him with hostility, and the more the issue grows. This Aggression should not stand...man. I went to over 150 Grateful Dead shows and never, ever saw any hostility amoungst fans, inside the venue or in the "lot". I feel sorta bad for the younger generation of concert goers who have to experience this type of behavoir. We had our problems to be sure, but pervassive aggression towards one another was not one of them.

Exactly, it's unfortunate. It's because I experienced him in AC without having previously heard any of these stories that it was so shocking to me, and so interesting to hear all the stories after. I'd seen him before from years of occasional touring but I'd never heard what a raging psycho he can be. Kicking and hitting people, karate chops, screaming in their faces. So bizarre to occur at a Phish show of all places. It's not a freaking megadeath concert.

Also if anyone likes to play where's waldo....in that picture above you have Antelope Greg with his arm in the air, on the left...I forget the guys name in the middle but he's cool, nice guy...Dominic to his right, another good guy....then Ivy, Banjo, and myself are all in the picture as well.

Aggression and hostility define Antelope Greg. Any time you combine tons of drugs and tons of people, there is potential for trouble.. And Dead shows were not immune. Deer Creek 1990...One of my friends bought fake tickets from a group of African Americans. These guys had a stack of tickets with blank backsides (this was before TM holograms and barcodes). My group surrounded the three guys and we explained the consequences of not returning my friends' money. When one guy put his hands on me, he got dropped. Money was returned...end of story. I saw plenty of fights on the Dead tour, between both men and women.I'm not proud of what happened. But it did. I hate fighting, but sometimes you gotta step up and protect yourself.

So, he calls girls c**** and physically/verbally harasses people. On 10/30 he asks you 10 times for more room, even though he has the room of 2-3 people and you're got no room. Just say "No, I need some space here too." Then he messes with you and your girl in AC and you "called him on it." Wow. Sassy. I can't fucking believe this. Why do you continuously bow down to this guy? Have some self respect. I don't care how hard his life was. Join the club, life can be a bitch. He has no more right to any "space" than anyone else. If the band wants him there, so be it.

I never bowed down, I never moved over when he asked me to (I couldn't if I wanted to there was no room).
