The fucking god fathers of metal.
one of the only modern metal bands i pay attention to. these guys can play their shit, regardless if you like the music or not.
the keyboardist is slugging on a bottle the whole song thats bad ass haha.
I heard a song by them when I was playing Brtal Legend.@frizz check out hatecrew death roll, follow the reaper, or hatebreeder, cant go wrong with any of these 3 cds.
Forgot to look em up.
Let There Be Rock was the first album I ever actually bought and paid for with my own money....the more my parents hated it, the more I loved it!!! Mission accomplished
Bon Scott was a candle in the wind...like princess Diana, but different
+1's for everybody on this thread
My friends dragged me off to a Judas Priest concert during the summer of 2009. Ended up having a good time. Enjoyed seeing the 80's heavy metal fashion again. Lingerie as an outer wear and double denim. Lot's of big hair. Doesn't get much better than that.
I am going to go with another one in the spirit of the OP....Black Sabbath puts the "H" in heavy. Think about the soundscape of the late 60's...they were surrounded by a bunch of damned hippies, and working with basically the same sound gear....yet this sound is what they creatively arrived at. They aren't heavy because of sound engineering hocus pocus like so many bands that would follow...they are heavy because they are fucking HEAVY. Nobody, and I mean nobody sounded like that except them.
Nobody ever will. Paranoid was the first album I tripped balls to. I love it.
OPETH. The cream of the Swedish crop. If you love metal, and you have never heard this song, then you absolutely must, for it is one of the crowning achievements of modern metal.
@Frizz said:sloth you ever seen CoB?? crazy stuff, one of the most intense and tiring shows ive been to.I heard a song by them when I was playing Brtal Legend.@frizz check out hatecrew death roll, follow the reaper, or hatebreeder, cant go wrong with any of these 3 cds.

Women and Metal. Need to include at least one. Lita Ford and Tony Iommi.
Lamb of God is one of my favorite metal bands. Chris Adler is one of the sickest drummers also.
Allow me to pop in to say MASTODON.
If I like them what other bands do I need to check out?

The former.give them a listen. they are kind of hard to explain style wise, but they are very heavy in bass and drums. kinda progressive. melodic, but in a dark way

Death shall rain down upon you all like a maelstrom of hellfire. The blade to the throat of a traitor held by the hand of doom. No mercy shall be given in the name of the gods. Let fear be your last emotion before the end. Die. Die by the hands of........................................................................
METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
