BajaPhish I saw the Megadeth, Dio, Iron Maiden ( I think it was those 3) tour a few years ago 10th row center. Free tix from a neighbor- It was definatley an entertaining evening to say the least. Lots of good bonfires on the lawn. But I could've showed up just for Maiden. Probably not going to watch either!

My friends dragged me off to a Judas Priest concert during the summer of 2009. Ended up having a good time. Enjoyed seeing the 80's heavy metal fashion again. Lingerie as an outer wear and double denim. Lot's of big hair. Doesn't get much better than that.

I am going to go with another one in the spirit of the OP....Black Sabbath puts the "H" in heavy. Think about the soundscape of the late 60's...they were surrounded by a bunch of damned hippies, and working with basically the same sound gear....yet this sound is what they creatively arrived at. They aren't heavy because of sound engineering hocus pocus like so many bands that would follow...they are heavy because they are fucking HEAVY. Nobody, and I mean nobody sounded like that except them.
Score: 3

Frizz Permalink
Frizz Hahahahaha! God damn hippies.
Nobody ever will. Paranoid was the first album I tripped balls to. I love it.

roybelly Permalink
roybelly My brother had to do a speech in high school english class....and chose to do it on satanic influences in rock music. He came into my room, and borrowed over half of my posters and a handful of my records as audio/visual aids. His own Human League and Lover Boy records wouldn't cut the mustard.
