Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock>>>> Not looking likely. Being a west coaster I would really like to figure out if im making arrangements for Watkins, or if Im heading to High Sierra for the 4th. Release the dates already! Plane tickets are getting more expensive by the day, and if they want to get a solid turnout with gas looking like it may be $5+, they should let people make plans now to cut some costs by booking ahead of time.

Most of my vacation I have to plan 6-12 months in advance. The longer this announcement takes to come out, the less likely I'll be able to hit anything. I need the Watkins info soon. I dont want to waste vacation for nothing. But if I dont put in for it like yesterday there is no way Im getting it anyway

I hate to be pessimistic, but every week that goes by without a Watkin's announcement makes me question the viability of it going down July 4th weekend.

We've all been waiting long enough. I wonder if it has anything to do with the low ticket demand as opposed to last summer tour...do you think they would hold back the announcement in order to sell more leg 1 tix? I know if I was to give up on the sweet idea of watkins happening, I would grab at least two more shows on the tour. Watch a bunch of people just say "to hell with it" and do that, and turn around a week from now and there's the announcement staring them in the face... Makes me wonder.

I'm now gonna pick April 1st as the new leg 2 announcement day. That way when Watkins isn't on the bill they can say "April Fool's"

Same here, I'd rather the fest be later in the year rather than July... So I can save up some more money and not take so many vacation days at work all around the same time. Either way, I just want a festival, never been to a Phish fest...

I remember last year one of the legs wasn't announced until 7pm EST. I'm pretty sure it was leg I, i remember doing work in my dorm room, randomly heading over to phish.com around that time and there it was! Rift video and all. just wanna toss that nugget of a memory out there

We'd like to believe they do...but I don't think that the band is scheduling/announcing tours based on the whims or needs of their fanbase. And I don't think they want to.Think about it...since the comeback it seems the dates/venues of recent tours haven't been as logically easy to follow as earlier years. They seem to be zig-zagging all over a region and doing it in short bursts. Some parts of tours have made no logistical sense whatsoever. I think this has made it more difficult to follow them and has maybe helped to clean up the scene.
I think they want to tour and will be back next year (with or without Fall or NYE shows) but they'll do it on their terms and their terms only. And somehow...we'll all make it to as many of those out-of-way shows as we can.

Yeah, in spite of everything I've heard around town, I *DO* wish very much that WG was an August thing as opposed to July thing, then I wouldn't have to fight with my boss about the time off.::sigh::
And either way, we need an official "yay" or "nay" from the band. This waiting is actually becomming downright insulting. Sure, most of us WILL drop everything for a festi. However, I'd like my dropping of everything to not have to involve pissing off my boss and fighting even MORE with my bill collectors than I already do.

It is killing me too!!! I am so ready to figure out what I'm doing this summer! The Vibes lineup is seriously impressive so far, and seeing as how I met my girlfriend there 4 years ago, that's a given annual trip. If Watkins Glen happens, of course I'm going...but that leaves not much $ left for leg 2 shows. If Watkins Glen doesn't happen...should I go to Electric Forest (SCI is my 2nd favorite band)? Too many decisions...I need dates!!

@mellifluouslife. The fact that they zig-zag around or try to shake people off tour is one thing. Not announcing the run is another. A lot of people arent trying to make plans for every show. They're just trying to hit shows in their area... or if there arnt any in around them, need to work out plans to fly/drive/sleep at the most convenient destination for them.
