Tribute to Tweezer!!!

embezzla Permalink
embezzla So today is Tweezer's 21st birthday and I figured I was going to celebrate it by going to bars that have digital jukeboxes in the city and playing the longest tweezer I can find at the bar. Only drinking until it comes on and the duration of the song, closing tab and going to the next bar repeat but a different tweezer each time.

Also here I wanna celebrate by asking everyone to:

1. Name your favorite tweezer jams and/or tweezers with dope teases

and

2. Name your favorite tweezer segue in and out and back in (#of times doesnt matter at least once though)

1. 2-28-03 oh yeah so sweet and so fun
2. Tribute to tweezeppelin can't believe I did the Friday Sunday sandwich and missed this saturday gem.

Other notable bdays: Cavern!!! Runaway Jim!!! Sweet Adeline and Uncle Pen, my life as pez, secret language instructions for random note, simpsons, turn turn turn, and all fall down

FunkyCFunkyDo I'm a huge Tweezer fan, but I just don't understand the love for 2.20.03. The show, first set especially, is heat and the Tweezer is decent... but taking a place in Top 10 lists does not compute in my brain.

Can someone explain to me why they think the 2.20.03 Tweezer is so good? Maybe I am missing something I have not heard in the jam before.

no, that i really can't do for ya. Only reason i mentioned it was it is a strong tweezer and have read so many threads pitting the two '03 tweezers as to which was best. is 2/20/03 a top ten tweezer? no probably not.

Word. 2.28.03 is the sh*t. An oft-overlooked Tweezer is 4.17.04... not saying it's a top-tier Tweezer, more specifically saying the first 5 minutes of the jam are on point. Really awesome interplay between Trey and Mike with Page and Fish riddling the background with crunchiness.

a lot of bars here have phish in the digital jukebox, and i purposefully seek out digital jukebox bars so i can play phish. I do stuff like this all the time. Like one time I put on first tube 2 times in a row and bought the whole bar shots of jameson....yeahhhhhhh

come on where's the tweezer love

I dont know if 2.28.03 is not in the top 10 tweezer of all time but if not i need to see more tweezer lists i love it....I put it on tonight....I was in 28 minutes of heaven. people were like what is this..when does this end and so forth. oh yeha i air guitared mwuahaha

Mr_Miner Permalink
Mr_Miner I saw the debut of Tweezer Reprise or as I like to call it.....The Son of Tweezer.

One of my favorite Tweezers is from 5-3-91, Somerville Theater where they busted into Sweet Emotion.

February 01, 1991

Alumni Hall, Brown University, Providence, RI

Set 1: My Sweet One, Foam, Tweezer, Tweezer Reprise[1], Magilla > Guelah Papyrus[1], Runaway Jim, Split Open and Melt > Bouncing Around the Room, David Bowie

Set 2: Chalk Dust Torture[1], Reba[2], The Landlady, The Mango Song, Cavern, Alumni Blues > Letter to Jimmy Page > Alumni Blues

Encore: Carolina

[1] Debut.
[2] Dixie tease from Trey and Page.

Notes: This show featured the first performances of Tweezer Reprise, Guelah Papyrus and Chalk Dust Torture. Page and Trey teased Dixie during Reba. The Mango Song was played for the first time since August 19, 1989 (192 shows), though Trey curiously introduced it as being “new.” The second set was cut short due to Brown University’s curfew; after Cavern, a representative from Brown (Trey: “I don’t want to tell them, you tell them!”) informed the crowd that the show had to end by midnight and that the next song had to be the last. During a pause in Letter to Jimmy Page, Trey noted: “we’re not going to forget that this got cut short, and the next time we’re back in the area we’re going to make it up to you.” Before the hasty encore Trey remarked: “we’re going to have to watch out for the ‘big hook!'”
