Mike here, yes yes, total coincidence that the news of our damning the man came on such a jestful day... those of you strong enough to thwart the urge to kys on our latest hiatus will be rewarded by preferential $15 tix that will most certainly be 100 level pavs. only doubters & disbelievers will be turned to the wretched land of lawnst souls, but please please remember during these next 2 long years to check these boards relentlessly and exhaust any & all possible rumors of our 4th coming- because we will be watching & we know who you are. Yours in obsession, Cactus

c'mon now... have you looked at the date? Holding their shows to lwess than 45 minutes is the the first thing that proves it's a joke. Don't worry. lolIt read 2 hours and 45 minutes. Still a weak April Fool's attempt.
I think it is an April Fool's joke.....but also I think there are pieces of it that are true! I know Phish is pissed with their agreement and contract! I also know that Phish has had countless opportunities to "sell out" over the past almost 3 decades and they haven't taken the bait! Although I am not privy to private conversations with the boys I do know that aside from their families/friends and their music, their fans are what is most important to them. What other bands rely mostly on word of mouth for exposure? What other bands encourage the sharing of their music btwn their fans w/o expecting or wanting money? Their business model is obviously not the most profitable model but it is extremely fulfilling to them....otherwise they would of sold out....b/c they could be making a lot more money than they are now. I actually think that their business philosophy is what is causing the huge rift between them and Red Light. I think that is why when prices went up last year Phish added the "free" downloads to their tickets. I don't believe the guys have much say over setting ticket prices, however, I think adding in the downloads was their way of letting us know they understand the burden the price increase placed on their fans. They seem to be doing everything in their power (as they always have) to look out for us!
If God forbid there is truth to this article then it will only increase my love for the guys. If they are pulling out they are doing so b/c they have morals and principles! Having principles and morals are scarce these days especially when money is involved! If there is another hiatus on the horizon then we, as fans, won't be able to even imagine what they would do when they returned! We would be rewarded....highly rewarded.....as we always have been for our loyalty and support! If I have to endure another hiatus I am will be so happy it is due to these circumstances rather than addiction and the band coming unglued at the seems. Their album was titled "JOY" for a reason! I watched as they declined almost a decade ago. It broke my heart! Watching them come back together over the past few years and seeing the joy they have while performing has brought me so much happiness!
All in all it's just very Phishy...but then again I love when Phish is Phishy! Good luck boys, as always thank you for the happiness you have brought me and I'm behind you 110%

nicely said!!! i do agree. although the last hiatus felt like a lifetime!
i hate april fools day, cant ever tell what trueSuspicious. Does this mean you actually love April Fools Day and, in fact, are capable of telling what's true?
You know... if any of this is true, I would hope the boys would look at smaller venues in smaller cities. It would certainly be profitable and fun. Take my hometown for example: It is exactly (pretty much) between St. Louis and Memphis, only 4 hours from Nashville, 4 hours from Little Rock, Ark., located off a vital traffic artery. We have a 5,000 seat coliseum (with room for more with general admission). Such a venue would be very easily accessible to midwestern fans, more than likely sell out, and have a lower cost incurred for playing the venue. I am sure there are locations similar to mine, not only throughout the midwest; but all over. If nothing else it could certainly shore up the Phan base a bit more.
I'm going to go ahead and say it "Phish needs to play Poplar Bluff, Mo."
In my dreams.

I can't picture them not finishing the summer tour with no more stops after the festival? I don't think so and won't until its confirmed by Phish.net. Skip certain places that they always play when they do summer tours in the past? Bullshit is what I say. A lot of there phans will not be happy if they don't have a 2nd leg to their summer tour including myself. If so, oh well, shit on again....
How can anyone think there's not going to be a leg 2???? They are rumors of them being all over the fucking country in august. you think all of those rumors are false? when did we hear about watkins glen? 6 months ago? what date did we think the festy was? July 4 weekend? the reason this shit gets out is because it's already set up.
