I was listening to walnut creek the other day and that whole show had good segues including my favorite mikes song > simple
What's your favorite segue?
What's your favorite segue?
12/29/95- bt gin> real me> bt gin. it doesn't get any better!
i cant think of my favorite...there are so many. gin> real me is definitely one of them. i always had a soft spot for gin> uncle penn as well. we all know the date of that one.
...and yeah, that Gin> Me> Gin from '95 is sick. Just listening to that yesterday morning.
i especially like the back end of the real me> Gin jam. its mythodical and pure genius. its one of those segues that make you shake your head in disbelief....unable to fathom how 4 guys can be THAT goodTrey gettin' down on his Wah-Wah.
@Slothberries said:the whole jam is sick. i still cant believe they did that as well as they did. i love when the crowd finally realizes that gin is back. their roar gives me chills every timei especially like the back end of the real me> Gin jam. its mythodical and pure genius. its one of those segues that make you shake your head in disbelief....unable to fathom how 4 guys can be THAT goodTrey gettin' down on his Wah-Wah.
I have to throw in Wolfman's -> Boogie On. You know the date. Also Bag > Psycho Killer > JJLC to open that same show. NOW you HAVE to know what show I'm talking about.12/7/97 baby...so, so good. Nice choice brother...
11-30-95 at the Nutter Center outside of Dayton. They had 2 of them. First set, third song was Julius, then it went into NICU, Bathtub Gin (fast version), Rift before going into Fast Enough for you, which I love anyway. The second set was the killer though. Started off with Cars-Trucks-Buses, then went into Tweezer, Markisupa Policeman and then Run like an Antelope (best version I've ever heard, period! they went fucking crazy on that tune) and then Scent of a Mule. Killer, killer, killer to say the least.....

Mike's Song -> Fuck Your Face
Listen to the way Mike's ends and Fuck begins. Those songs were meant to go together.
I actually think Mike wrote it that way.

the Yamar transition being particularly sweet. all around great show..but of course it is now. it is fall97.
another fav is walnut creek DWD->Mikes's.

The Ghost> Slave from 7/4/99 is super nice, too. Make sure you know this show. One of my fave's...if you like this one, see the ghost> free from polaris on 7/23/99. different but equally impressive. actually, i think i like that ghost better. although, it's been a while since i've given the 7/4 show a spin. that's a good candidate for the drive to work tomorrow.

yeah, the front end rocks too. but you can tell that theyre segueing INTO something. the segue out is seamless....much much smoother than any segue ive ever heard them play.
All time has gotta be the 6/14/2000 Twist> Jam> Walk Away....they play around with the Walk Away riff for several minutes before finally building up to it.
I was listening to walnut creek the other day and that whole show had good segues including my favorite mikes song > simplefantastic stuff right there. and i really love the DWD> Mike's right before that. amazing show
What's your favorite segue?
I've been rocking 12/6/97 Tweezer> Izabella lately on a regular basis and it's a pretty sick segue.yeah, this tweezer> izabella is choice! another one of my all time favorite jams. also, see the burgettstown '97 ghost> izabella. not quite as good of a segue but a killer jam.

also, i'll throw the woostah '98 cdt> mirror in the bathroom> cdt. good stuff in a killer set.
OP: that DWD-»Mikes is the segue of that show
More recently the mango-»weekapaug from manchester had trey strummiing weekapaug for the last 2 minutes of mango!

4.26.96 YEM -> Wolfmans. VOCAL JAM SEGUE plus piece by piece intro to Wolfmans. Soo nasty.
Yup. How did I forget that one??? :/
6-22-94
Mikes > simple > catapult > simple > icculus > simple > mikes > I am hydrogen > weekapaug
Mikes > simple > catapult > simple > icculus > simple > mikes > I am hydrogen > weekapaug
4.26.96 YEM -> Wolfmans. VOCAL JAM SEGUE plus piece by piece intro to Wolfmans. Soo nasty.yes, that maneuver is very unique. i haven't listened to that show in FOREVER! in fact, i know i have a good copy on cassette, but i'm not even too sure i have it digitally. i may have to pull that bad boy down today, just for the yem> wolfman's and micheal ray ripping ctb. good call my man
i'm usually a big fan of anything that -> walk away. check out the greek show from 10/29/98 with a nasty reba-> walk away, the creek '09 boaf> walk away, or the alpine '00 tweezer walkaway. go back 7 more years, and there a number of good tweezer> walk aways. ah, i love that song...

Walk Away has such a killer riff. It's a great landing pad for a deep jam. Love the outro jam they featured last year too.
^ I think you mean the 99 Birds> Walk Away...I've got that one on the HD thanks to your rec for good Birds from another thread. And it is a smoker. Haven't heard the 10/29/98 one, have to check it out.ah yes, type-o. birds is one song that i thought was really hot in '99, see polaris and the aforementioned creek show....hmm good stuff!
