Now to get on my pedestal & grandstand - "Why I don't like the idea of a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame"
Basically summed up by the Hot Dog photo above. Note the "George Voinovich Atrium" in the background. I happen to think he was a fairly effective politician, but in no way do I want to involve him in my enjoyment of Rock music. To me the hall represents a mainstreaming & corporatizing, and thus a fossilizing of Rock music. I don't think it is good for the genre to have an official Hall of Fame.
