I love a good Makisupa because they always changed up the lyrics and it's just a fun tune. That MGB version is sick too with great improved lyrics and that little rap.

I loved the Bethel version from this year, probably may favorite for 3.0, but I can't say that I've listened to a lot of them but the references to Mike's and Page's houses and Trey's favorite TV were sweet. Plus that cool segue into Hood from Fish's house. Oh come to think of it that UIC version was cool too

As soon as I saw you were posting in this thread I knew what you would put. That was awesome.

I was thinking the other day that the number one song that always shows up in a killer show is Makisupa. When they play this song it is usually a sick show.

I'm not sure I feel that's been true in 3.0. The last two performances have seen Makisupa abort Ghost in a total ADHD second set (8/17/11) and appear unusually in the encore slot to redeem a second set that was tame and occasionally boring (6/12/11).

Just two my two cents and all that.

You are probably right. Was definitely the case in the day.

I noticed that the song has been played 91 times since its debut in '84 so I was wondering... Have they always done the improv lyrics/keyword thing? If so that's pretty damn cool (I'm sure Phish could do it) but if not when did that become a regular occurrence? Furthurmore, what were some there stood out as particularly hilarious or unique? I know this isn't 20 questions, just a curious phan.

MomaDan That cut from Ghost at 8/17/11 kills me every time, its like nails on a chalkboard Phish style. The keywords might have been some of the best though. "Thats whats going on in my house"

yea that killed me too, I was kinda hoping for a cool Ghost > makisupa > ghost but alas it didn't happen. But yes the keywords were my favorite of 3.0 for sure
