i was really excited. i think my response was something along the lines of "nnnnnnooooooooo way!?" with a stupid smile, mainly because they hit us up with the intro.
that weekend was a blast and i often look back on it and just sit and smile. good people, good weather, good times all around.
I had actually headed back to my camp early in that set and was there when that happened. (My camp actually had a view of the stage and near perfect sound.) A few of us were getting the grill ready and prepping food for a 'tween set meal. I couldn't believe it when they started playing the intro. Totally unexpected. Pure bliss. Definitely one of many peak experiences that weekend.
Edit: @MySoula - so I've mentioned this before? : )

Edit: @MySoula - so I've mentioned this before? : )haha, we had shared a few posts one day how we got pretty excited that they dropped the intro on us. i think we started the discussion because whenever people get ruffled about how many shows they've/or someone else has attended i usually drop the "you don't have to count them, just enjoy them one by one" line.

Exactly, that line was just perfect man. I love those lyrics, almost as much as I love Pebbles and Marbles' lyrics.
Were you on Page side, across the track?Fishman side, on the fenceline next to the track. Pretty much even/slightly in front of the Pinball Lounge/Ball Square. Probably about 100 yards from the famed/infamous tunnel into Hawaii, in the direction of the stage.
I can say with certainty after Sunday set 1 that there is nothing like having the Phish from VT play at your backyard bbq.
I was hoping they were with you
This was one of my highlights on the weekend. It was only the 2nd time they had played it in 3.0 to that point, and the first time they'd included the intro. The more I listen, the more I love it. We saw it again during the S show, and while I don't think it will make steady rotation, I believe we'll see it more than the once a year average it's held so far in 3.0.
Also as we know from 2.0, this song has great type 2 potential at the back end (did I use that term properly?). Easy song to jam out and evolve into anything.

I caught the version at the S show too, and I gotta say both versions we caught this year were greatly placed.
i was with some netters, good friends now, and i turned around to @757phan and just shouted it "IT'S SASS!!!!" a great, great moment for sure, i truly love that song and they rocked it out. I was page side, pretty close up and was getting down, that entire weekend was amazing.::huge smile::
See you soon =)
I played the Superball one over and over and really fell in love with the tune. Totally made my night when they went into it at the S show.
Enjoying these Superball tales and sure hope to catch the next fest, wherever it may be...

i actually didnt know the song at the time, but looking around i knew something special was happening. To tell you the truth i forgot all about when Antelope kicked in, but now SASS is one of my most most listened to tracks from the Glen![]()
Not played this year : /
Aside from Forbin, which I'd never had, this was the highlight of the run for me.
I hope Phish decides to turn this back into a very leangthy jam vehicle like they were doing in 2.0.
Heaven at a Phish show for me would be one set, one song. 1 hour 20 minute Scents and Subtle Sounds.

I too was in attendance. It was such a mutual feeling of love and understanding, one of the best moments ive had at a PH show.
Now I am chasing that song, and, as ever, Tela among a handful that always take me "there".
That festival was pure bliss.
How I hope that they go back to Watkins next year...Damn!! That would be excellence!!
That was one major peak no question, and my first time hearing that song! I was in love with it from the get go, but had to ask one of my crew what it was.
