I f***ing LOVE Dawes! Seen them a few times here is LA now and even when Taylor's voice is out they put on a hell of a show. If you don't know these guys check them out.

Think i saw these guys open for Brett Dennan...not a big fan but i don't like Springsteen so that might be why

They did open for Brett on his last major tour and they do have a Springstingishness to themselves. They are not shy about wearing their inspirations on their sleeves and I love 'em for it.

I love this band! Check out their first record North Hills! It is amazing...for me it was one of 'those' soundtracks of life at the time it came out. I have seen them a bunch...even helped out with an in-store that they played(they are nice guys to boot). Also, check out Middle Brother, with members of Dawes, Deer Tick and Delta Spirit. Yay a thread about DAWES!

Had to revive this thread to let you everyone know Dawes NYE shows from Minneapolis are up on eTree. Just started listening to the first night and it sounds great.If you already know Dawes, you have probably already stopped reading this and are downloading the shows. Enjoy,

That's hysterical. I got into the band before the Dawes jokes started flying on AV Club, which I'm thankful for. That running Daws joke cracks me up. Why is it that Onion readership is so unified and intelligent in their humor?@spaced said:

kind of weird... My last name is Dawe. And my little brother is named Simon Dawe, which was the name of the band originally, I believe. Just a little odd.

i also love dawes i actually got to meet them at a small venue they played. They are really nice and laid back. If anyone lives in NYC they are playing a free show at summer stage in the park next saturday.
