tzevy Who else is psyched for the start of the season?

Christmas time for the Jews indeed: 9+ straight hours of great games..Boston/NY, Miami/Dallas, Chicago/Lakers (plus two more for the nightcap).

Oh, and GO Image

bostonron Celtics all the way here. Old ass team, but they still have some fight in them. I fear the lock out will hurt teams like the Celts more, as the condensed season means more back to backs, 4-5 games a week. That hurts guys that are a year from retirement. Chemistry and Rondo go a long way though.

Knicks and Heat can suck my sweaty balls.

Watch out for K. Walker this year. Kid looks good in the "pre-season" games, and we all know this is a guards league.

tripsforjoeg I hate all of your teams equally. I love the NBA so much, and I think it's because I have no horse in the race. Living just south of Cincy, I have absolutely no affiliation to an NBA team and it's great. I just watch it all for what it is: entertainment. Having said that, don't be surprised if you see the mavs and heat back in the finals again this year.

I really don't care about the NBA. However, I'll follow along a bit now that Kenneth Faried is playing for the Denver Nuggets since he is from the same college I went to. He had 14 pts and 5 offensive boards for the Nuggets in last night's pre-season game.

Did I call it or what? I think we're like 3 and 30 right now. Probably the worst Pistons team I've seen in my life. My God they suck. Like...really suck.

Looking good this year. Probably not good enough to win it all, but they will be a tough out in a playoff series. Just missing a good center really to make some serious waves.
Hey Dwight Howard how about some Philly love?

tzevy No Sixers love here, but they have my respect. One of those teams that is solid on fundamentals, but not the most exciting bunch to watch.

They have almost 8 players averaging 10+ points a game, but no one over 16. Third in the East though with consistent play, have to give them credit.

Wow, Lin tore it up. 38 23 28: his point totals from his first 3 starts. Statisticians during the game said that was the highest total since the NBA/ABA merger. Kobe did have some amazing shots tonight and finished strong, but looks like Lin handled himself vs a better defense.
Score: 1

karmapolice Permalink
karmapolice Linsanity for sure. He is fun to watch and a great story. They almost cut him before that game against the Nets. Kills me tho as a sixers fan lol. D'Antoni just doesn't care if his teams play D, but he can sure coach offense.

tzevy Permalink
tzevy Yeah, they brought in Mike Brown for defense. Chandler and Jeffries will always play D, but Lin + new rookie Shumpert = revitalized team that actually wants to play TEAM defense. Everyone has been swarming the ball lately on D, crazy notion.

Mike Brown coaches the Lakers, Herb Williams is the Knicks D Coordinator. Chandler is also a good presence under the opponents hoop

The Lin story is great but last night is a reflection of how embarrassing the Lakers are on offense. No Melo or Stoudemire and you can't capitalize in the paint? Lakers about to push the panic button...

3conecap Permalink
3conecap Lin tore up the Lakers last night. Fisher has been looking really old(painful because I have a Fisher jersey), and Steve Blake out of shape. Hopefully we get J.R. Smith for some bench help. Not as good as Odom defensively, but can create well off the dribble and is a fantastic 3pt shooter. Lakers bench is horrible(avg. 20ppg), and every good bench needs a close-to-AllStar caliber player on it.
