that's just like, your opinion man.
From now on can we copy and paste articles like this into the forum along with an email address for those that choose to comment so that this type of shameless hit trolling won't achieve it's desired effect? Much like Lauren Ober in 7days this was posted simply because this fool knew that ranking them as a worse band than 4-non-blondes would get the community out in droves to defend the boys to deaf ears. If you want to defend the band then send them an email or something so that your voice is heard without indirectly paying them. Clicks = $$$$ and we're filling the pockets of those who shit on the band we defend.
In case anyone else feels the need to voice their concerns directly to the blogger... Elano Pizzicarola Email: ElanoP.25@gmail.com Twitter: @ElanoP Facebook: facebook.com/elano.pizzicarolaYou're way ahead of me my friend.
...What's wrong with the Down with Disease lyrics? They could have at least chose a song with hardly lyric, instead of ones that actually make sense. Shows their incompetence from the start
Meanwhile, The Apple MacBook Pro is winning Grammys.
Keep calm and carry on.
...What's wrong with the Down with Disease lyrics morons that write and publish these articles?
@PricklyHairs has got it right, don't bother giving them a click.
I guess one cool thing about being a jaded vet* is that I am also jaded to all the dumb criticism. Hey, knucklehead, 1995 wants its 2 sentences back.
Meh - hippie-hating music "writers" were better in 1.0. I haven't read anything new in over a decade.
*extremely kidding

@johnnyd said:FYI, Skrillex DID win 3 Grammys last night. and I know Im probably gonna get shit for it, but I think its rightfully so. he's a young, talented producer of the young generation and clearly making his name known. Better yet, and contrary to popular belief, he's not a sellout. He's on his own label, never signed a major contract, and releases all of his track online via beatport. Its not his fault that millions of people happen to like it.Meanwhile, in a parallel universe not too far from here, Skrillex is winning Grammys

But just as points of fact:
1.) he came up on Deadmau5' label, that's how he got his break.
2.) Beatport definitely has a "pay for play" element to it, much like pop radio stations.
3.) A lot of people had been morphing dubstep into brostep for a few years before he started doing it. He didn't invent that sound. He did put it together in a way to make it pop more or less in the mainstream, so all due credit there.
Its just a new flavor of pop music at this point. To the extent that that's that the grammys do, capture and reward whats going on in pop music, I guess one could argue they got that right.
To the extent that that's that the grammys do, capture and reward whats going on in pop music, I guess one could argue they got that right.Exactly. They are based in pop music, and pop music only and when I mean only, I mean only. (99.9%)
Hell, when Tim Reynolds was nominated a few years ago it was for a solo acoustic song he performed @ radio city when he played with DM. On the nomination D. Matthews's name was next to Tim's when Dave literally sat next to Tim on stage and watched him perform it. Point being, they didn't even credit Tim by himself when it was a completely original tune performed solo.
Part of why I love phish is the fact that they are so under the pop culture/Rolling Stone/mainstream radar. Trey's quote from Bittersweet Motel summed it up best:
"When Rolling Stone puts out their "who's on tour" now list, we're not even on it. We're completely off the map. And we're having the best tour in years"
"When Rolling Stone puts out their "who's on tour" now list, we're not even on it. We're completely off the map. And we're having the best tour in years"
I live in the Bay Area, and fans jumped (rightly) all over the dude from SF Weekly who said Phish was a band "to avoid" for the Outside Lands Fest.
Oh well, some folks will never get it. That's fine.
"You brought bad reviews?"
...no chance of enjoying them sober? I've never done drugs, ever...I don't drink. Phish is my favorite band; logic = flawed.Every show I've attended since the end of '98 or so..I've been 100% sober for....wouldn't want it any other way...just my preference though....Quite a few of my non-phish friends have a hard time grasping this...For me..the music comes first...everything else plays second fiddle...
and, just FYI, it really sucks working in a mainstream music retailer the day after the Grammy's...
@WGphan92 - Well, its ok if you like him, I won't fault you for that. Not gonna argue taste.Well played sir. I can't disagree with anything you said in that post.
