I rarely post on PT but I'm a regular reader. There are some hilarious people over there. I like aspects of both places.

PT is like a shitty party at a frat house, but theres a few way cool kids to chill with. .net is like a party at your friends house when their parents are out of town....you can have a little fun and have some great conversation, but you can't do this and you can't smash that.

I'm better at least 50% if not more check out and or post on PT on a regular basis... i check em out every once in a while, but just dont like the look of the forum layout.... there is a lot more slamming of posters on PT, but i guess thats what makes it attractive to some and not to others...

There was a period of time where many of the threads on PT were very insightful...but now it seems like there are too many "Best show ever" threads relating to many 2.0 and 3.0 shows, and only thinking of 1.0 being '99 or '00. I feel like .NETers understand that those types of conversations are opinions and not statements of fact (and can intelligently discuss shows from '83-'00 during 1.0 topics

i feel like people are more likely to gang up on you over here if they dont like what u post as compared to PT...probably cause .net has a smaller amount of users... but PT is full of more bullshit trolls then .net by far

You definitely need a "thicker skin" for PT, but there are pockets of great and caring in that site. You just have to look hard. And for those that say I'm full of shit, take a look here:

It's just not my cup of tea. Somewhere between growing up and getting my share of "the internet is an anonymous jungle, I'm gonna run wild" I just never had interest in it. I've visited it before, but to me it's a bunch of kids (AND ADULTS) that take the whole anonymity thing a bit to far and try to be these funny, bad-ass, "OMG WHAT IS HE GOING TO SAY NEXT HES CRAZY!!" internet gods, who get a rise in self esteem from pretending to be someone their not on the internet.Hey don't get me wrong, that's what the internet is all about, BUT, a forum completely filled with them...not just a fun loving handful like .NET, doesn't keep my attention.
I honestly think it's mostly a lot of older folks on there that post all the ridiculous shit. Probably a lawyer with a wife, two kids, huge house, who only gets a chance to escape reality and jump out of their shell and into this "super awesome dude" they aren't even close to in their lame lives, by visiting a place like PT.

I don't post over there often, but I lurk every once in a while. Sometimes you can find lots of links to download great music. There's some of that here, especially the Workingman's Wednesday (TODAY!!!!) and some of the newer offshoots of that (which are also very much appreciated - keep it up), but I've come across a bunch of really good Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Prince, Talking Heads, etc. stuff over there that I'm not positive I would have found here.You just have to be prepared to wade through a lot more bullshit to get what your looking for. Unless you're actually looking for bullshit - you won't have to look hard to find that.

I personally love both. Both sources of great information. .net is more for intimate and in depth conversations while pt is simply hilarious and really no where near as bad as most people think. Sometimes you gotta have thick skin but it is pretty easy to separate the good from the bad

one thing iv noticed about these threads is...they dont happen over there.the regulars here are great and i appreciate and respect their opinions but it can be a bit too sensitive on this board. although i suppose if its too sensitive here...its not sensitive enough there.

PT for me is the whore I occasionaly bang, I like her, I can act wild infront of her, she doesnt mind - she is used to assholes..Net is more like my local bar, I dont bring any whores in there, I follow a certain etiquitte because I like drinking there.

This is the place for me but I like PT, it makes me laugh. I don't post there but, i do quite a bit of light reading over there.The Wall Kitty Thread was quite entertaining.
