Any other Fathers have any thoughts about not going? Or just f*** it and go?

There was also a great vibe on the Sunday Fathers Day show.

I have two great kids and spend tons of time with them everyday - 2 & 5 years old and do have approval (with a little guilt) from the wifey to head down to Phish in AC. Got the hotel, everything is set, but it is Father's Day. And it seems Phish also does something special on this day. Any other Fathers have any thoughts about not going? Or just f*** it and go? Leaning towards the second option. F IT, you only live once. Whattya say?Yeah, it entered into the decision making process for my wife and I. That Friday is also the last day of school and we have always had a "last day of school" pool party for all the kids in the neighborhood. We were debating what would be worse to miss.....since all the kids look forward to it every year we decided we'd have the pool party and celebrate with the kids and then go to AC on Sat and Sun. We're going to tell our kids that we are going away for a couple of days but will be back on Monday and we'll celebrate Father's day then.

Father's Day eggs & bacon with the wee ones and then getting to hear BROTHER that evening!
You're a lucky dad... Have Fun!

Mine are 3 and 6. Skipped Father's Day SPAC 2010. Hightailed it home that morning. Hated not being at the show but loved hanging with my kids. Thinking I have to do the same for AC.
I feel like that the day has a lot of meaning to them after they talk about it in school and work on cool little projects for gifts. What does it say to them if I'm not there to tell them how their gifts are the best gifts ever? A child's mind can go anywhere and it's just not worth the possibility that they would think for a second that a show is more important than they are to me. If it wasn't a special day I wouldn't think twice.
Maybe...just maybe I can figure out a way to get them to AC on Sunday and hang back from the crowd. They would love to see a show and being a Father's Day show would be that much more special for all of us.

I don't do father's day shows. I chill with my kids on father's day because they are the reason I am celebrating fathers day. Some of my friends go to shows/golfing/fishing/etc on Father's day...that works for them and that is cool with me.
Did 6/17 and 6/18 in 2004 but came home in the AM on the 20th. Thankfully, AC falls on my wife's weekend to work, so we aren't doing any AC shows anyway!

Fathers, how would you feel if your son went to a Phish concert on Fathers day?

Other side of the coin here -- very close to my father, and I'm the kid.If you went and didn't bring ME, I'd be pissed....but seriously if you went and didn't bring me, maybe a little dissapointed, but I guess family dynamics play a huge role as well. If I knew how special it was to you and I remember my youth, I would say go, but still be a little sad...
