Greatest Jams in phish history?

12Next →View All

lacesoutmike Permalink
lacesoutmike I was wondering what does .net think are the greastest jams in Phish history.Not necessarily your own personal favorites, but the jams that are widely known throughout the Phish community as being some of the greatest. For example, although the 12/31/93 Hood is not my personal favorite (blasphemy, I know), I believe that fans generally regard it as one of the greatest in history. So I've compiled a list of some jams that I think in general are held one step above the "average" great phish jam.

8/13/93- Bathtub Gin
12/31/93- Harry Hood
6/18/94- David Bowie-> Mind Left Body Jam->Bowie
12/29/94- David Bowie
12/9/95- You Enjoy Myself
12/31/95- Mike's Song, set break, Weekapaug Groove
11/22/97- Halley's Comet
12/6/97- Tweezer->Izabella
7/29/98- Bathtub Gin
12/31/99- Take your pick(Roses,Drowned-> After Midnight reprise,etc...)
6/14/00- Twist

What do you guys think? Are these among the most highly regarded jams in phish's history? or are there others that hold a wider claim to fame throughout our community?

andrewrose Don't really feel like listing ones that are considered all time great that I don't love. But here are a few that fall into the known/I love them category that aren't already mentioned..

Great call. Despite the weirdness that surrounds the rest of that set, this is a beautiful jam.

I sometimes wonder if that rotation jam would prevent this show from becoming an official release. Maybe the Cities would be good Live Bait material.

westbrook I've been wondering if we could get a consensus on about 25 jams that are all-time greats. Not that those would be THE 25 best jams (I don't think we could get a consensus), but just to agree on certain jams that are undeniably best-ever material. A few that I would put in this category would be the Riverport Gin, NYE 93 Hood, 7/23/97 Ghost, 12/2/95 Tweezer, etc. I think a start would be for everyone to list their top 25 jams and go from there. Even if we can't get a consensus, I just like to see what other people's favorite jams are...Thoughts?
