Pipe Smokers ->>>

Somantin Permalink
Somantin Just had my first (tobacco) pipe shipped to me today. Have always been interested in pipe tobacco. I have been smoking too much over in the Afghan mountains. Figured if I wanted to quit cigarettes, the pipe would be a good substitute.

I bought myself a nice Karl Erik briar pipe, along with a variety of blends to try. All were very moist but one, Blue Mountain. Just packed it for the very first time. I still have to break in the pipe, but wow! What a difference it makes. You can actually taste the flavors of the rich tobacco. Now smoking will so much more enjoyable, not just a addictive craving. Very relaxing and meditative. I cannot wait to relax and have a smoke on the lot or while camping.

Any fellow pipe smokers on .net?

My roommate and good friend has had one for the past 3 years i've lived with him. I love it, it is waaay better than cigs. It gives a consistent buzz and is more fun to smoke. a cheaper, well burning, great tasting pipe tobacco is "Paladin" if you're on a budget like I am.

YorkvilleBeerLover My dad and his dad were longtime pipe guys - really into Peterson's back in the day. My old man took it into the free from style in the 70's and usually rocked a Cavendish Blend - toasted/black mix that he used to get at Barclay Rex.

He gave up smoking about 3 years ago but I have many fond memories of having a pipeload with him.

Couple of tips - you've got to cure the pipe. Dont be afraid to clean the pipe as well. Piep cleaners and a nice scraper for inside. Dont be afraid to buy new tips. Always try and keep the pipe going...I always thought that was the mark of a man - how long he woucl keep his pipe lit. Finally - as with cigars - if relighting tobacco while you are hitting it blow out a few times to kill the char taste. Dont pack tobacco to tight in the pipe. And whatever you do dont let your kids steal them to smoke weed from.

TIMBO Permalink
TIMBO not a pipe smoker here, but certainly a junior cigar afficianado. I maintain a humidor full of smokes fine and rare. I have about 15 sizes of Opus X, a variety of Cubans, Casa Fuentes, God of Fires..........

If your into enjoying a tobacco smoking experience, I'd love to see you on lot or at a campsite @ Bader, Burgetts, DC, Alpin, or SPAC

And of course, the fine and rare smokes will be on me......
