Definitely check out some Paul Simon. Graceland especially.
My Morning Jacket has a great 2-CD live album called Okonokos, also their album Z is sweet
The Moon and Antarctica by Modest Mouse
De-loused in the Comatorium by The Marts Volta
Innerspeaker by Tame Impala is an amazing record. I've read articles where they're described as what The Beatles would sound like in the 21st century.

That Theresa Andersson track is called "Oh Mary" it's unreal. She just put out an album called Street Parade but it is nothing like that tune and that tune is not on the album, but I really really dig dig it. Very unique.
For some experimental/psychedelic rock try these two albums that never get old...
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

I've read articles where they're described as what The Beatles would sound like in the 21st century.I saw this on a Amazon review: "Tame Impala has taken the space rock vibes of early Pink Floyd, the bluesy riffs of Cream, the over-the-top psychedelica of The Flaming Lips, put them into an blender, and created something exciting and new." Sounds excellent!
Thanks for all the great tips yall! Keep em coming!

***p.s. regarding Oumou Sangare, listen to her play "Djorolen" with Bela Fleck from the documentary "Throw Down Your Heart." Its on YouTube (6+min IIRC). It is THE most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard, bar none. I get chills every time I hear it.

Ween, Peter tosh, del McCoury band, and flatt and Scruggs. That'll keep you busyBig fan o Ween, got their stuff. Peter Tosh? Im reggae'd out for the time so Ill put that on the back burner.
Del is this bees knees. One of the greatest live performances I ever heard was him @ Bonnaroo in 2002 (check it out if you havent heard it - http://archive.org/details/del2002-06-22.shnf ). I get choked up every time I hear that version of Vincent Black Lightning. The crowd gets so loud it almost blows out the recording mic. You can actually hear Del and the band just shake their head and laugh at the crowds reaction.
Flatt & Scruggs I will definitely look into. Gracias! If you like gospel bluegrass the Country Gentlemen are a real treat.
