AlecBGreen My itunes library has been pretty stagnant for years now. Im trying to freshen things up and get into some new stuff. Ive got oodles of reggae and thats what Ive been listening to mostly for the last 5 years. Need to branch out! Dear .netters, help me please! Throw out some crucial albums that you just couldn't live without, some good stuff ppl might not know about, random good shit, etc. Anything and everything (if its sincere) is appreciated.

Here are some of mine just off the top of my head:
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
Led Zeppelin - II
Pink Floyd - Animals
Weezer - The Blue Album
Vivaldi - 4 Seasons
Bob Marley - Babylon by Bus
Ali Farka Toure & Ry Cooder - Talking Timbuktu
Outkast - Aquemini
Guster - Ganging Up On The Sun (check this out!)
Coldplay - Parachutes (dont judge)
John Brown's Body - Spirits All Around Us
Neil Young - On The Beach
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

Ok Ill stop now :) Thanks for any ideas yall!

Good deal, Doolittle is a great album, it's a great album to listen to all the way through to really dig it. Good choice. That will give you a great feel for them.

That Theresa Andersson track is called "Oh Mary" it's unreal. She just put out an album called Street Parade but it is nothing like that tune and that tune is not on the album, but I really really dig dig it. Very unique.

I saw this on a Amazon review: "Tame Impala has taken the space rock vibes of early Pink Floyd, the bluesy riffs of Cream, the over-the-top psychedelica of The Flaming Lips, put them into an blender, and created something exciting and new." Sounds excellent!

Thanks for all the great tips yall! Keep em coming!

Big fan o Ween, got their stuff. Peter Tosh? Im reggae'd out for the time so Ill put that on the back burner.

Del is this bees knees. One of the greatest live performances I ever heard was him @ Bonnaroo in 2002 (check it out if you havent heard it - http://archive.org/details/del2002-06-22.shnf ). I get choked up every time I hear that version of Vincent Black Lightning. The crowd gets so loud it almost blows out the recording mic. You can actually hear Del and the band just shake their head and laugh at the crowds reaction.

Flatt & Scruggs I will definitely look into. Gracias! If you like gospel bluegrass the Country Gentlemen are a real treat.
