I wanna hear about - super stoked for the show and would love some stories or facts from folks who have attended before. It has to be good if the smallest venue is getting 2 nights!
Went to Portsmouth last year and will be there again this year. Beautiful venue being right on the water. Easy parking with a couple of garages near the venue. Small lot scene across the street from the venue. Pretty soft gate from what I remember. Had a great time last year and looking forward to two more great shows.
Great news! I'm excited to start the tour there. See you folks there.
old towne portsmouth just a few blocks away. naval battleships docked right behind the venue. tiny place. it's pretty great. it's also all GA which is the way phish is meant to be. let me repeat that because it is so very important: phish is meant to be seen in all general admission venues
i can't tell you how annoying security/staff gets when they treat the phish crowd like every other group that comes through. we're capable of all finding our own space & getting along with each other. we don't need venue aisle or ticket nazis harshing our vibe
The picture above is about 4 rows back from the pit, if I remember correctly.
Happy Phishiversary by the way!!!
nice, i see some dads in that pic
Been to both phish shows there and saw widespread there a few years back. Great venue, GA is awesome... got 3 back from the rail right in frontof trey to see my first harpua. Great second set last yr. Lawn is actually cool cuz its those who choose to fade back. Pumped to get 2 shows there this yr
@westbrook, we always run for it the minute the doors open to get a good seat.Thanks. So I take it getting in at doors is the way to to?

It's a really cool venue, and based on the past two performances Phish seems to really enjoy playing there. If you're looking for some good daytime activities, Portsmouth is only a short drive from Virginia Beach.
Also, is anyone camping at the First Landing state park?

@the_florist I live in Virginia Beach and highly recommend Firts Landing for camping and taking a morning stroll through the bald cypress swamps. It's beautiful. I love the venue for all of the reasons previously mentioned and also second the drive around the speed limit rule in VA. I don't like to be profiled so I don't have any stickers on my car. I think that is a good practice no matter where you are driving.First landing is your best bet Florist. You'll love it!

Great Venue. Local bars were OK but pretty dead last year. It felt like, if need be everyone could fit under the pav, if it rained. Bathroom lines were pretty long right at set break but died down before they went back on. Beer vendors were too accessible. I hear the beir garden is the spot in Portsmouth.

Let the record show I am driving all the way up from South Phlorida for these two shows!!!!!!!!!
See you guys there!
Been to both shows here, last year brought my son to his first show there. We stuck near the top of the lawn and I will say that when Harpua busted out, the sound back there wasn't that great, but it did improve so must've just needed some tweekin'. My wife's like "It's not loud enough, doesn't sound good" and I'm like "Shut up, it's Harpua!" Yep, my son't 1st song was Harpua. Pretty darn special. Boy was totally spun out on snow cones at that point!
1st year was in the pavilion, never had any issue with security, amazing sound, can't beat it. See you next week!

I have 3 tickets for Tuesday night that unfortunately I cannot use. I'm getting them held at will call, and I'm in the process of getting them held at Will Call. I will happily sell these at face value (I'll even eat the tax!) if anyone is in need. Best communication is either by email or phone, your call.

BUMP!
My finance and I are gonna be at both portsmouth shows, wondering what the lot scene is like and how early we should get in the venue to secure a decent spot? Our hotel is in Chesapeake which is a 20 minute drive anyone have any clue what a cab fare would be? Not sure if I wanna mess around with parking and having to worry about drinking and drivingTake a look at the Ferry. Cant linger around after the show though.
Is that correct @757phan?
Beautiful sails as the venue roof, yachts and a naval hospital ship, I think, were all in view last year...really kinda odd which is another reason why it is cool!
Keep your head about you driving in and anywhere around the venue, lots and lots of security but if you have a solo cup and don't act stupid you won't have any issues.
Can't wait!!
Sorry if i'm rambling on stating the obvious. Pretty stoned, really excited and just want this trip to go smoothly for myself and everybody else.
Happy Travels Y'all.

Not if we see you first

A cab back to C-peake should run about 20-40 depending on where you are going mistaz.
make sure to look up at it when trey is zoning out staring up. kuroda has fun with that thing
