I disagree. Codes were offered. He accepted. He also indicated what other codes he was looking for over the course of the summer. At least one additional person has graciously offered to provide him with some help. IMO, that's what this forum, and particularly a thread entitled "who wants my codes???" is all about. Nobody's getting taken advantage of here, as far as I can tell.

Deer Creek night 1

Don't know what I want in return yet because they have not happened and I have the DCU run and will have last night's when I get home.

IMO there is a big difference in trading/giving codes vs. uploading then linking to a mediafire or other publicly available site where hundreds (thousands?) of people illegally obtain official releases.

This is a situation where ONE person has an extra code that they are not using and are trading/giving it to ONE other person who can only use it ONCE. This activity has been going on this site for a while now, and I have to believe if it violated the TOU or was seen as negatively impacting contributions to MBF it would have been disallowed a long time ago.

There's a perfect example of a thread which posted mediafire links such as I discussed above that was just closed today for violating the TOU. I'll find it for you if you need me to, but @johnnyd closed it this morning. Can you explain to me which of Phish's policies are ignored v. enforced?

Plus, even if I were to assume that this is true, it doesn't justify jumping down somebody's throat or purposefully excluding him for making a rather simple request in a thread dedicated to such requests...

After all the money a majority of die hard phish fans spend on studio/live albums, merchandise, and going to shows I think what you're saying doesn't make much sense. So I guess you hate on great people like MKDevo then for helping us relive all the shows on youtube for "free" since the band isn't getting paid? Your argument sucks...getting bootlegs for free got me starting to go to Phish shows in the first place, and eventually got me to buy most of their albums too.

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry. If I had known what a ruckus this request for down load codes was going to cause, I would have never had asked for them . I have extras or a few shows and I had trades available. I was not trying to get anything for nothing. My deepest apologies of the community that I offended and a big thanks to those who stook up for me. See you next weekend.

You're putting words in my mouth. I'm fine with people doing whatever they want. Asking/begging for codes is kind of tacky, but as far as downloading or streaming shows, I don't really care. Just think it's funny that streaming shows here is seen as no big deal, yet downloading sbds for free is a big no no. Like you said, with all the money we spend on albums/shows/merch, I don't really mind it. My argument sucks? Which argument is that?
