Personally I think Gorge 98 is the best. Not the longest, but damn is it just about as flawless a jam as they've ever played. It's got that wonderful not-yet-dark-just-chillin'-in-the-late-afternoon funk vibe goin on. Love it love it love it. Also, no Gumbo discussion is complete without 8.13.97.

It's the version that made it onto A Live One and still my favorite. With the Cosmic Country Horns during the second set. A show worth having for anyone collecting shows.

Agreeing with Creek '98. Everytime I listen to that jam I feel like I'm floating away into awesomeness at the end. I also love 7/17/98 and 9/14/99 "Another One Bites the Gumbo"

I'll chime in for the Lemonwheel one - I was there. Highlight indeed and of course still translates well all these years later - the local radio captured the sound pretty well so it sounds clean.

Then I saw the 8/3/98 Gumbo, and I realized I was wrong.
