With guitar and drum
On tour as it is in Gamehendge.
Give this day our daily toke
And forgive us our WSP stats
As we forgive spreadheads that come to our Phish shows.
Lead us not into the Biscuits
And deliver us from Umphrey's

Penguin Good morning!!

I'm not superstitious or anything but Friday the 13th always gives me an eerie feeling.

I have a super busy day on tap... Lots of work, not enough people, nice weather outside. It doesn't make for the best working conditions. Then add in that it's password change day and that just compounds the problem. Your password has to follow certain guidelines but I'll be darned if I know what they are. The passwords need to be so complex that I have to write them down. And even after writing them down, I still enter them wrong enough times to lock myself out of my systems.

I ask you, .net. What is the point of all that??

On the bright side, it's Friday, I have parties ahead of me this weekend, and the weather is spectacular. I love summer. :)

johnnyd I have changed 3 passwords in the last 2 days.
First day back thats not jammed with trainings and meetings. See if I can at least scrape the first layer of derp off. I have three essential (simple, yet potentially time consuming) tasks on my list today. If I can get them done, I'll call that a win.

Possibly stream some Bisco tonight. No nans. Then a wedding down in NH tomorrow.

Morning all, and Happy Friday!

tripsforjoeg Awesome dinner with friends at a sweet restaurant last night for Jen's friend Sam's birthday. Turned out it was to tell us her and Alex are expecting! Pressure's on me now. Hopefully babysitting our 18 month old niece this weekend will provide the first level of birth control.

Only other "must-do" things imo are Blue Heaven for breakfast and check out Old School Board shop. And I guess the cat show if you like cats or silliness. Have fun and congratulations!

I'm also going to a wedding this weekend. Can I get a ruling on cash as a gift? I'm assuming cash is cool, I know its my favorite gift.

Watch out for Pamela Voorhees today, everyone.

@Capricornio, Go with cash. If you give them a check there is a good chance it won't get cashed for a week or two if the honeymoon is right away.

I don't know about everyone else but I hate when I have a check floating. I always forget about it, then boom $200 out of your account when you least expect it.

Tonight is the big country concert. I am going to try to get over to our lot and take a few pics. So many cowboys/cowgirls in CT, who knew

mfhgreyboy Good morning everyone. Well, mission to wait for the iphone5 is a total failure. I gave up. Couldn't take it anymore. Calling, texting random people all over the place.

The final straw was that Facebook decided I really, really "Liked" Maker's Mark. This is a tough situation for an alcoholic. Ummmm, is everything OK??? Yes, I'm fine. You sure? I haven't holed up in my house with a case of whisky. Positive you don't need to talk about anything? I'm ok. Maybe you should hit a meeting. Honestly, I'm fine, but thanks for your concern!!!

So, I just picked up the Samsung S3 this morning. How the hell am I supposed to get anything done today? New phones. I guess "tech" gadgets in general are like the last "toys" we get to play with. I'm going to start a thread about it, but if any of you fine folks are phone geeks and have recommendations for apps/settings, etc. for a new android I'd like to hear them.

JayDubya Good Morning everyone!

I'm very happy that it's Friday, this week has been a hard transition for me back to work life after vacation.

I'm going to try and listen to that SPAC N3 replay in thePhish room on tt.fm today. That can only help.

johnnyd Phish.net Staff Permalink
johnnyd I'll be doing the same. Its interesting to hear the difference between what you heard and what the recording heard. With all the analysis that comes with virtually instant access and availability, at Woostah 2 I got slammed with a re-visitiation of the appreciation of how much better it generally is live. How the sounds mix and meld and when its dialed in they can use the acoustics and physics in the arena to do things that can not be recreated anywhere else.

This was a given in the 90s when all I had was tapes. and I know its an obvious observation.

But it hit me like a ton of bricks on 6.8 and again this weekend, as I found the sound quality/mix sub-par (for phish) at both of my last 2 shows - Essex and MSG. (Surprisingly at MSG.)

JayDubya I really can only compare the sound at Alpine from year after year and it continues to get better. I remember in 2000 thinking I could barely hear the music, anywhere in the lawn. It sounded very muffled and muddy. This year and in 2010 as well it was loud and clear anywhere we ended up on the lawn.

Of course the pav on N2 was just rocking.

It is quite the experience to hear SBDS of the the show you were the next day, or even later that night. I've been giving the two Alpine shows a lot of play time. It seems like some sections you hear during the show that you might dismiss grow on you as you listen to them over and over.

The inverse is also true. The Reba from N1 just blew me away live. I was in the zone for that mofo and thought it was spectacular. Upon a sober relisten it seems to be pretty standard. It goes back to the one thing I really like about Phish...everyone enjoys them differently.

No, she'll [sarcasm]love[/sarcasm] that. With this particular relationship it would make more sense to write it out "Mr and Mrs her name."

And droogz or sober, the listening experience at the show and at home can be totally different.
I agree 100%. Case in point, DC N1 Mikes groove: The poor quality of the music on tape(I'm thinking of Trey on drums and Fish on guitar for Paug) doesn't accurately portray how hilarious and awesome it was in person.
