clevername I have recently finished scanning, trimming and uploading all of Phish's mailings from Spring 1991 through Summer 2000. They are available as individual PDFs and also as a single 1GB zip file. Both can be found here: http://goo.gl/Gjp2z

Also, if anyone has any mailings from before Spring 1991 or anything that might be missing from this archive, please let me know so we can get it all in one place.

Enjoy!

I'm willing to bet Clyde was changed to Glide, since it's debut was right after It's Ice in September of '91

clevername Earlier this year, I wrote you guys a letter asking what it was you said in Llama after "to enter the delta." The most I was hoping for was a response to my question in the Phish Update. But, to my surprise, while checking my mail one day, I came across a postcard from Chicago. When I turned it over, it read:

Dear Jay,
In Llama we say:
"Leave it on a fart
Leave it on a fart
butt-face."

JayDubya Permalink
JayDubya My company computer blocks Google docs so I can't see this. But I seem to remember a letter to the Schvice from a fan where they rearranged the letters in each band members' names to make an anagram.

It seems like this letter might have been the inspiration for the song Twist. I read the song history of Twist and it did not mention the letter.

Can anyone confirm that A: This is even in the Schvice and B: This was posted to the Schvice well enough before the appearance of the song Twist that my theory is probable?

Yep, it's in one of the fall (i think november) issues from either '94 or '95.

Without digging through, that does sound familiar. I believe the pseudonymns for the disco set at the Went were anagrams also. There was a thread on that a while back...

In reference to the letter about the band nicknames, do they call Mike "cactus" because he's a prick?
Just curious,
Kevin
Wailuku, HI

Kevin:
No, if that were the case it would be Fishman's nickname.

correct..just found them in the Nov-Dec issue of 1994. some of them are pretty funny..among the good ones:

Trey Anastasio (the easy one):
Yes, Aorta stain
Stationary Sea
Ian, say "TOASTER"
Arise, nasty oat!
Score: 4

JayDubya Permalink
JayDubya Cool, thanks.

So I suppose it's possible that this letter to the Schvice was part of the inspiration for the song Twist, given the song didn't make its first appearance until 1997.
