Winter 2013 rumor - Phish.net Forum

It's only a rumor, but i recently heard that Phish will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary next year with some extended touring. It was told to me that Phish may have booked the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY (where I live) for January 20, 2013. I'm just mentioning it. But I did read in that great interview with CK that Phish has lots of surprises planned for their 30th year. We can only assume that they will have their 10th Festival for their 30th year...but this one date here in Rochester was mentioned to me. Book your room now. The Hyatt and Clarion are the two within walking distance. Hope it's true!

A friend of mine who has a connection to Blue Cross Arena. I work with someone else who is an usher there as well. I will do my best to confirm. I know rumors are just that, but it was interesting news to hear. I live in Brighton, 5 minutes away so I'm all for it. The fact that it came with a specific date was a positive.

While I try not to get swept up in the rumor mill, fall/winter tours just seem so right. If they do indeed pull out a surprise late winter tour, I might need to do my first ever full tour. Here's to crossing fingers and toes, but focused on what's ahead first: Colorado, New years run...

There was talk in Cali from reliable people about a Winter run as well, so it's been going for at least a week or so. My money says yes. Also heard that bands in Ra-Cha Cha were looking to books places for a phish after party earlier this week.

I really doubt it, but you can always dream :-) My buddies brother is high up in the Hampton PD. He'll get the tip off if it is going to go down. The Coliseum would need to notify the PD in order to secure enough officers to arrest all your asses and make their tax quota for the year.

I would looooove to see them get back to the Murat. I think if they are celebrating their 30th some of those venues w/ classic shows should be hit. I think Hampton, MSG, and Worcester are gimmes, but i'd love to see them go back to Binghamton, Portland, me, coral sky, etc.

Yeah that's about the only indoor venue in the area the right size for Phish. The Comcast Center at UMD would be cool too but they don't really book concerts there.

The Patriot Center at George Mason could probably work as well, Furthur played there a in 2010.

The Verizon Center is huge - 20K - I would love it because its a quick metro ride from work. As a transplanted PA guy, they would obviously do CorestatesFirstUnionWachoviaWellsFargoFederalGovernmentChina Center.

Another weird East Coast option could be the crappy downtown arena in Baltimore - I don't even know what its called. Good central location though and Phish always brings out the best in an aging arena.

I think the scene would overwhelm Fairfax, but Further did pull it off recently. Somehow I doubt it though.

That's 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore. Very old.
