They had a pre-sale for facebook fans which only .0001% of fans actually scored tickets to. After reading the comments on the band's fb page, Stones fans apparently hate ticketmaster as much, if not more, than we Phish fans do.
I am somewhat of a Stones fan, but have never seen them live. Loving Cup is a favorite encore of mine. I figure the opportunity to see the Stones won't be available for too much longer....
The only silver lining is that I loosened up my ticketmaster fingers for 12:00 pm today. Best of luck everyone!
The fans shouldn't hate just ticketmaster. They should also hate that band for selling tickets with a face value of $800+I agree. Although the Newark shows have $95.00 tickets.
American Express Pre-Sale on Monday, going to give it another shotme too. if I fail again, I may take a "Page" from the .net playbook and head to a TM retail outlet on Friday during the on sale to the public.
Ticketmaster really f***ed me over today. Twice. TWICE. I made it through and got tickets only to have it say "error, cant communicate with server". Balls.
Smash or trash? (I'll go ahead and mark @mmetch down for trash)
I've been thinking about the Stones lately. It's hard to exaggerate what they meant in the late 60s and 70s. They were not just the greatest rock and roll band the world has ever seen, they ripped open youth culture. (to be clear, though I'd put them in my top 5, I'm talking about cultural history, not personal favorites.). When was the last time that a R&R band mattered in this way? The last time a band caused fear and trembling? The last time a band created an earthquake?
