I can't pay 250 for NYE ticks

Thanks. NYE should be +$10.

For 12.29 it looks like approximately $190/ticket to get fairly decent 100s. To just get in the building it looks closer to $150. These numbers do NOT account for stubhub fees, tax, etc.

Chilly NYE was like 90 and change or 91 I believe. They probably will go down a little bit in a few weeks, but probably only the 28th-30th. Last year they went down for a little while, but then when up higher than they started at. So although they may go down a bit, there is just a good of a chance they will go up even more.

I wish I had like 20 tickets to each night, just keep putting 4-5 at a time on right around Face + Fees so no one buys the expensive one, and hopefully getting some to drop their price. Little would they know it wasn't a scalper doing it.

But if I had 20 tickets to each night I would be hooking all my friends and crew up, and they all my favorite .Netters! I can dream...

HARRYHOOD213 NYE is not going down and appears to be more then the last 2 years. The same seats in 2010 that were in the low $200's, were in the low $300's last year and now in the $400's this year.

Now is the time to buy, unless they are truly outrageous as noted above.

I wonder why the 30th is so low in # of tickets, people holding out for the NYE Tickets. If scalpers scooped up all nights evenly and even more for NYE, it would make sense, I don't get why 12/30 is so low, or maybe the answer is that FANS scalp the NYE tickets just as much? Thoughts?

I was only responding to the "wait, whut".

The scalpers need to recoup the capital investments in the GA floor tickets that they scooped up and can no longer sell by the row for even more! Ha ha.

That's simple. Same reason real phans found 12/30 MUCH easier to purchase than any other night. The fact that its a Phish show (as opposed to any other event) means NOTHING to the scalpers, so the idea of attending a full 4 night run is meaningless to their machines. 12/28 is a Friday night and 12/29 is a Saturday night, and statistically these listings are in higher demand. 12/31 is a Monday night, but it's also a holiday (NYE at that). Scalpers have less interest in picking up tickets for a Sunday night before the corporate folk (who can actually pay for scalped tix) have work.

This really doesn't surprise me... F*ck the man!

phunkytime pulled the trigger on nye, cant miss it this year. Might go to one more night if i can find something reasonable on ebay. Luckily i found a decent deal on ebay for nye. If you consider decent not paying extra stub hub fees out the ass a "decent deal". Either way ebay's still getting the cash. Such a F*cked up system and it needs to change. Extremely unreasonable. You would think a band worth of raising a banner for in the garden could find a way to cut out the scalpers. Ticketbastard is a monopolistic black hole.

You can't list at face on stubhub. The fees they charge are 20-30% of the list price, so you have to inflate just to get your money back. Of course, most inflate much more than that.

I used 'em too though. It's my one chance to go this year, and not one person I know got NYE tickets on lotto or TM. I saw some online that did, but scalpers seem to get worse every year. The system sucks but it's all we've got. I just hope my ticket shows up, since I noticed after I bought it was set for electronic delivery - on December 25. WTF. Of course I have been charged in full already.

Drgordy Behind the stage 100s dropped to around $250 last year. I doubt you will be able to score them at that price this year. There is still a huge demand for tickets. I suspect that prices have stabilized by now and will start to go up in price in the next week.

I'd buy now, actually I would have bought a while ago. You can get price alerts set to you I believe, if you're willing to risk it.

I completely agree. At this point in the game, the prices are only going to go up. Supply has decreased as people have made their sales/trades, and other people are now willing to be spending more.

If you don't want to wait for another re-release, or you don't want to get to the box office when it opens on New Years day, you're pretty much stuck with the stubhub cost as of now.

bakestar08 Permalink
bakestar08 Its a sad state of affairs with these tickets yall but we must stay strong...There is a huge factor that "fans" are scalping a ton of PTBM tickets this year...IMO I think its because of how broke we all are this year and the promise of big bucks are causing otherwise dedicated fans to make the decision to either make a quick load of cash on their extras from lotto to pay for the trip itself or just taking the blessing that is a filled lotto request and turning it into cash for the holidays... I can see how tempting that would be but honestly it sucks a lot of people put in for the max amount for all four nights just to sell their extras at a huge mark up. This was a premeditated decision...
Scalpers killed us in the TM onsales to a point that I called TM enough to where they not only admitted that they own 2 of the biggest scalper resale websites but said that they have no way of combating the scalper bots, and will not cancel orders of tickets even with solid proof they are being scalped b/c even though their purchase agreement states that tickets will not be resold for capital gain, they actually encourage resale through their sites. I even got a cease and desist email! funny to me... With that said there will be at least one more re-release through TM as well as day of the show possibly(didn't see much of this last year with the multiple re-release though so...)
Not to thread jack but does anyone here think that will-call only lotto tickets would be a deterrence (say for MSG box office opens at 3pm instead of 5pm with the doors being at 6pm) to fans scalping lotto tickets? Then they would have to stand out front and actually have to ask for such a high price face to face with other fans, which I think would end up in them getting lowballed so hard they would either have to sell said ticket for face or possibly just miracle someone in!
To close I will say that I do empathize with those in financial dire straits (I'm one of em!) but do not sympathize or tolerate scalping...hell I snitch em out to be honest and wish more people did too. We will never be able to control Ticketbastard but we can sure as hell police ourselves a little better. I'm not saying don't buy a NYE ticket if you can afford it, I would but can't. Just saying that if you are going to drop that much cash think about why you are having to do that and try to always act accordingly in the future i.e. sell that extra for face to a fan!!!!!!!!!!! And don't let the promise of summer tour get you so excited you overpay for summer run tickets. Their are face value extras at every show during the summer, on lot, sometimes on the ground! We definitely fought the scalpers hard first leg and aside from Dicks and Bill Graham tickets they left us alone on second leg (except for ATL for some reason) So with 30th anny coming up and a possible Hampton run lets try and remember to put in only for what you need and If you see someone trying to scalp a PTBM ticket give em hell!!!!!!!!!! END RANT (sorry yall)

bakestar08 Also if ya'll didn't know STUBHUB is owned by EBAY, so one way or another...same way TM owns not only Ticketsnow but Ticketweb and Ticketnetwork as well as Livenation owning TM or TM owning Livenation...either way until the band stops using TM all together were stuck. They can't do this however because if the wanna play their same storied venues they gotta play ball with TM/LN and this is where Red Light Mgmt comes in...maybe they are the problem...regardless we all need to thank anyone who works for Musictoday for how hard they all actually work at keeping PTBM tickets out of the hands of the greedy
