Pink Floyd 70's live recordings....

RyeRyeRocco Permalink
RyeRyeRocco I've purchased every official release for Floyd. But have you noticed the utter lack of live material from the 70's?

Anyone have a download they wanna share?

gskatz yea look through dime. I have a SICK sounding AUD from Toronto 75, probably one of the all time best AUD's i've ever listened to. Definitely worth downloading the .FLAC
It was from the era when the live shows were done with a quadraphonic sound system. Sounds like your standing in the middle of a big stadium, as it was.

A discussion forum and sharing centre of Pink Floyd live recordings.
Yeeshkul!

This site has been posting amazing sounding 70s boots over the last year..I mean very good sounding AUDs and some radio broadcasts. Something in Floyd trading seemed to change in the last year or two because there were very few of that quality that were actively traded that I knew about.

The Floyd need to start a Dick's Picks, LivePhish kinda service so these things can sound even better.

GhettoSloth My brother, I can go on about this for hours.
Other than the dead & phsh, I don't think there has been a more bootlegged band.
Check out san diego 1971. Utterly unbelievable. Dark side changed EVERYTHING.
Before that they jammed a lot more. The removal of the Travel Section (a jam
Vehicle) from dark side marked a huge change for the live floyd experience.
Live at Pompeii documents this change. Roger energetically began to take over the
Band & Richard Wright got squashed. He wasn't even officially in PF for the Wall.
I should find a way to send you my collection. Anyone can PM me for more deets.
Plus Yehskull is THE place for torrents. Peace.

Just grabbed 3-6-73 off yeeshkul...I've always been a huge Obscured By Clouds fan. Really looking forward to this extended Childhood's End. http://yeeshkul.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8806

GhettoSloth Childhoods end may be the most terrifying song I've ever heard. Obscured by Clouds is amazing.
Wot's a the deal?? The Golds in them there Hills (? Goin from memory here)
'You go your way, I'll go mine
& I don't care if we get there on time
Count me in on the Journey, just don't expect me to Stay'
It is simply amazing to me how many songs they wrote that they NEVER played live.
Fearless = truly great

The obscured by clouds/when you're in from florida is High Quality, have fun

Does that Echoes have a Dick Parry sax solo instead of a Gilmour one? They started doing that on the 1974 Winter Tour and I'm not crazy about those versions. That is a dream setlist for sho, though.

Yes, it does. The sound quality has to be up there with the best from 75. Here was the lineup:

Band:
David Gilmour - guitar, vocals
Roger Waters - bass, vocals
Richard Wright - keyboards, vocals
Nick Mason - drums, percussion
Dick Parry - saxophone
Vanetta Fields - backing vocals
Carlena Williams - backing vocals
