frankzappasmustache2012 Bethel waves soundcheck (5/26/11) goes through some tension but when they resolve it and mellow it out it's incredible. The last theme of the jam is one of the most gorgeous phish improvisations ever. And 4/2/73 Eyes of the World. It's already a really pretty song, and the jam is great. The whole band is incredibly tight. Also just about any Divided Sky is pretty.

kipmat Lots of good recommendations here. I listened to "Nothing" from 6/7/12 today, not type II, but very well played. Another example of DCU bliss is the 12/27/10 Roggae.

I can attest to this, listening to the Ship of Fools right now and its f***ing gorgeous. My Phish suggestion is Alpine '10 Reba skip to like five minutes in and you've got a nice mellow going on.

callmethesloth @kipmat I remember streaming that tour opener, being jealous as all hell I wasn't there. Loved the Nothing from that show, it is indeed a very pretty type-1 jam. To respond to the OP, off the top of my head I'm gonna go with Mountains In the Mist from IT. Not crazy type 2, but damn is it hauntingly beautiful.

This was the first one I thought of. I'm sure other jams rival it, but I'm not sure it can be topped.

Gets me every time. Also the hood from 12/21/95, curtain with 10/26/10, waves 8/15/11 and 6/28/12 waves-> bug. Just a few off the top of my head.

Go with a Reba. Maybe superball. 12/31/93 Reba is pretty fantastic. I have that show and many others if you want!

8/18/2012 Simple is relatively short but very sweet. I find the playing similar to the end of the Bethel Waves. Another one of my favorites is the jam after Horn from 7/15/98 (labeled Portland Jam on the live Phish release). I often listen to this before bed.
