Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin?
Pink Floyd for me. They were so original and no one but Phish compares with their complete command of the soundscape.
Floyd, easily.

In the early seventies, impossible to choose, they are both too f***ing good. That's why it's a "mean" question. You HAVE to choose, or never see Phish again!!
Floyd between tone, creativity, and artistry puts them at another level. What they created was not just music.
My father saw Floyd in 71 at Hunter college with a couple hundred in attendance and even had a chance to speak with the band pre-show. It would be a no brainer for me to trade any show I attended Phish wise to catch a show from a tour like that.
Love Floyd, but they never jammed. love zeppelin, they did jam.Floyd never jammed? LOL
But Syd slays!

oh boy... if they were limited to the same year (72) then I may have to say Floyd. However, I dream of being at the Royal Albert Hall concert that Zeppelin did that got release on their DVD a few years back.I only said 72 because in my opinion (and Jimmy Page's), they were peaking in their careers. They played their best quality shows in that year, especially the U.S. summer tour.

@ledzepmaster said:Which is why I said you cannot go wrong from that year. But if I were to say 1969, then Zep has the complete edge. Those early versions of Dazed & Confused are so raw.... and any I Can't Quit you Babe. check out the Texas Pop Festival... so good@mattsox94 said:Coincedentally that is when Floyd brought out the Darkside material in concert...ANOTHER TOUGHIE!oh boy... if they were limited to the same year (72) then I may have to say Floyd. This is an easy one: Zep.
Floyd dude, I love Zep but Floyd is so innovative and they make sounds no one else does.

Pink Floyd- I'd imagine that the crowd at a Floyd show would be about a thousand times coolerlolwat? thats how u based this?

But for the sake of argument, I'm in for Zep... I really REALLY love Jimmy Page.
@ledzepmaster said:That's still irrational, it's about music to me.@the_Crested_Hogchoker said:Partially, for some reason I thought we were talking about if we had to pick one for a live show.Pink Floyd- I'd imagine that the crowd at a Floyd show would be about a thousand times coolerlolwat? thats how u based this?
@the_Crested_Hogchoker said:yeah I get that, but my stoned brain, acting on the assumption that this was about going to a show, made the sidenote that it seemed like Pink Floyd would have a headier crowd. I did decide on the music, I figured that was a foregone conclusion. I just added some stoney side commentary to something we weren't even talking about. Carry on haha@ledzepmaster said:That's still irrational, it's about music to me.@the_Crested_Hogchoker said:Partially, for some reason I thought we were talking about if we had to pick one for a live show.Pink Floyd- I'd imagine that the crowd at a Floyd show would be about a thousand times coolerlolwat? thats how u based this?

i considered a live show, and that is why i chose zep. the people around you are irrelevant if you let them be lol
@ledzepmaster2010, before I became a Phish fan, but I won't shit on the Dave Mathews Band... just the fans.
Been to a DMB show lately? haha
Oh and if you're connecting LZ fans to DMB fans then get the f*** out this thread. lol Good day sir.
@the_Crested_Hogchoker said:I wasn't around back then, obviously, but it seemed like LZ would have had a lot of shitheads showing up based on radio hits and whatnot. Not that Floyd didn't have hits, but it seems like it would have been more inaccessible than Zepp. I dunno, maybe one of the Ancient Vets can shed some light@ledzepmaster2010, before I became a Phish fan, but I won't shit on the Dave Mathews Band... just the fans.

I went to a Floyd show at Soldier's Field and nearly lost my marbles. Their sound was permeating, even in 1994!First of all, Floyd for me but it is hard to argue. But this set list, sir, would have made me wish I brought my brain diaper because holy shit that is mind blowing. How were you standing after that shine> breathe> time> breathe reprise> high hopes?
