In the early seventies, impossible to choose, they are both too f***ing good. Mid to late seventies Page does too much heroin and his playing ranges from sloppy to painful, so Pink Floyd have the edge there.

Pink Floyd is a different type of Band than Zeppelin. Jees @Tebowie, tell us something we don't know.

Floyd between tone, creativity, and artistry puts them at another level. What they created was not just music.

My father saw Floyd in 71 at Hunter college with a couple hundred in attendance and even had a chance to speak with the band pre-show. It would be a no brainer for me to trade any show I attended Phish wise to catch a show from a tour like that.

^ See, to me Pigs is the only memorable song off Animals and I never understood the hype next to legends like DSOTM, Meddle, Wish You Were here. Also I dont like The Wall, Comfortably Numb is the only track I listen to frequently off that one. Maybe i'm nuts and have to listen to Animals again though?

I only said 72 because in my opinion (and Jimmy Page's), they were peaking in their careers. They played their best quality shows in that year, especially the U.S. summer tour.

Which is why I said you cannot go wrong from that year. But if I were to say 1969, then Zep has the complete edge. Those early versions of Dazed & Confused are so raw.... and any I Can't Quit you Babe. check out the Texas Pop Festival... so good

yeah I get that, but my stoned brain, acting on the assumption that this was about going to a show, made the sidenote that it seemed like Pink Floyd would have a headier crowd. I did decide on the music, I figured that was a foregone conclusion. I just added some stoney side commentary to something we weren't even talking about. Carry on haha

I wasn't around back then, obviously, but it seemed like LZ would have had a lot of shitheads showing up based on radio hits and whatnot. Not that Floyd didn't have hits, but it seems like it would have been more inaccessible than Zepp. I dunno, maybe one of the Ancient Vets can shed some light
