I'd also suggest running out in to the street (or woods, you've got a f***load of suspicious, eerie woods right Jimmy?) screaming to make sure the spies know that you're on to them.

I attempted exactly this. I chose the woods. However, upon arrival in my back-est of yards I heard a sound. It came from the black woods and gave me pause. Just a moment, but it was enough to send me screaming back inside like a little girl.

I think it could have been a witch. Again, I'll know for sure when the weed wears off.

Perhaps it was a wood nymph? You shouldn't have run away, she was probably DTF.

More like she tapped me. Not that it was the worst experience ever, but I did have to slay her in the middle of it. She thought I had given myself over, but really I was just playing along and waiting for my chance. An opening. An opportunity. She closed her eyes for a moment and it was all I needed to snap her broomstick in half and drive it through her cold green heart. Who knew witches turn to dust when you stab them through the heart? I certainly didn't.

Anyway, long story short, I wandered back home and had another smoke.
