I have heard such great things about this band - will I feel an incredible desire to drop my whole life and pursue them across the country?
Because that happened once with this other band I listen to, and it's pretty hard to master.
Dan
Never seen a bad show - seen lots of INCREDIBLE ones - so go.
HIGH energy; sometimes silly, mostly originals, some great covers once in a while.
I'll be there as well. Saw them in Boston back in March and I don't really know much of their material but still had a blast. I didn't get hooked the way I did with Phish, but I talked to plenty of people around me who said they had 50+ shows under their belt.
Does anyone know what the deal is with Lupo's about smoking?

I find they can be a little more hit and miss than Phish but when they are on they are awesome.
:::ducks for cover:::
If you like jamming, you won't be disappointed. A lot of their songs have a poppier base than Phish, but it's all good.
Lupos is a pretty easy venue to burn in!
I will also be at the show and I am very excited! I saw them in Boston last March for my first time and I thought it was great. I'm really looking forward to Thursdays Lupos show!!
i'd be there if I wasn't going to louie ck that night
Only seen them on mushrooms and each experience is better than the last. Would definitaly see them without the shrooms too though...like most bands around the scene
Saw my first show at the Ryman for their Halloween show. UNREAL!!! You will have a great time. I believe @Kurtzboy endorses the band as well. Have fun! This dude is right. Moe has my endorsement. 10/26 was one of the best shows I've seen by anyone in recent history. Have a great time, all who are going.
SET BREAK. MOE IS AMAZINGYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!
Psyched you are enjoying them. They are f***ing also.
First impressions:
1) "Every part of the jam is my favorite part of the jam"
2) The drummer is the heart, the guitarist on the left is the brain, the guitarist on the right is the soul, the vibes/aux percussionist is the courage, and the bassist is the Jerry
Def going to try and catch them in Worcester
Second tune set II last night was one I requested, as Chuck (guitarist on the left) tweeted he wanted suggestions. So I'll go ahead and believe that "Wind It Up" was for me. (Be on my side, I'll be on your side.)
Also looks like you got a fat Brent Black, so they stole your face and you missed the show.
One suggestion, @cactoid, is to pick up Warts and All Vol. 5 (recorded in Des Moines). The first disc especially is MONEY. I have listened to that Captain America -> She, Y.O.Y. -> George a million times. George is probably my favorite moe. tune, after Rebubula, of course.
OK, sorry to geek out on moe. Glad you enjoyed it! They are awesome!
I'm kinda jelly, I really love moe. Was getting into them hardcore...then Phish got back together. was incredible. Its really cool seeing a band that awesome from like 6 feet away for $30. Take my money please. Gonna try to see them in Worcester with Kung Fu, and maybe again with Dopapod, because I've heard great things about both of those bands too.
@TheEmu did you ever see moe. in Des Moines? I saw them at the Val Air in March of 2001. Wondering if by chance you were there too.
Never in Des Moines. Both of the shows I've seen were in Council Bluffs, at Harrah's (outdoor) in 2007 and Horseshoe Casino (basically in a bar) in 2008.
They did, however, stop at the gas station/truck stop in Grimes that I was working at in 1996/1997. I didn't really know much about them at that point. A guy came in with a moe. sticker on his mug, and I asked him if he was into moe. He said, "I'm with moe.," and pointed outside to the bus. lol.
Definitely put the time in to listen to these guys on archive or live...it pays off in bounds!!
