5th annual "Wish You Were Here" Pasta Dinner
The Main Pub
306 Main Street
Manchester, CT 06040
860-647-1551

The fifth annual "Wish You Were Here" benefit dinner will feature a performance of Pink Floyd's album "The Dark Side of the Moon" in its entirety, 40 years after the classic record's original release. The band will include New York-based vocalists Johanna and Julie Corbalis, guitarists Jeff "Axlovin" Howard (founding member of “The McLovins”) and Matt Splain (from “Dirty Sanchez”), and saxophonist Eric DellaVecchia, bassist Mark Crino, and drummer Andy Chatfield (from “Stanley Maxwell”).

The "Wish You Were Here" pasta dinners are benefits for the AJR Nocera Memorial Scholarship Fund. At the first annual dinner in 2009, the group performed Pink Floyd's album "Animals" in its entirety. At the second annual dinner in 2010, the group performed Pink Floyd's album "Wish You Were Here" in its entirety. At the third annual dinner in 2011, the group performed Led Zeppelin's album "Houses of the Holy" in its entirety. At the fourth annual dinner in 2012, the group performed the album "Led Zeppelin IV" in its entirety.

We'll probably have DVDs for sale (assuming this year is filmed, as in past years)

Thank you! Yeah I wanted to get the "save the date" out early, since this will probably sell out in advance.

Sweet! Enjoy Kung Fu tonight. Our sax player Eric DellaVecchia sat in with Kung Fu back in March 2010 at Stella Blues in New Haven. And Tim Palmieri has sat in several times with us over the years, including an opening slot for The New Deal back in 2003.

Vocalists Tiffany Feo and Jennifer Hill have been added to this "all-star" band that will be performing Pink Floyd's album "The Dark Side of the Moon" on Saturday, March 23, 2013:

Image

Tiffany Feo previously sang with us on January 9, 2010 at Marinelli's Supper Club in Burlington, CT during our performance of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" album in its entirety. She also recently sang with the Lauren Pellegrino Band for a Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort.

Jennifer Hill is the front woman for indie piano rock band Jennifer Hill and Co. as well as the founder of Swan Day CT. She has been a part of the state's music and arts community since she was young, and trained classically at the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music (as a Musical Theater Vocal Major), and at Fort Lewis in Colorado (as an Opera Major). Over the years she has become both a well known performer and mentor. As a songwriter, she has had her original songs in films, commercials and on the airwaves from Connecticut all the way to Dubai. In 2009, she won "Best Female Vocalist" in the Hartford Advocate; was nominated at the Connecticut Music Awards in 2012 as "Best Singer/Songwriter"; and as an activist for the arts has created an annual event that raises money for females in the industry and has helped to gain her global recognition. When she is not pursuing her own music, she is helping others to obtain their goals by teaching voice lessons, songwriting courses and piano instruction to people of all ages at her home studio. Jennifer Hill and Co. previously performed with "Stanley Maxwell" on November 21, 2009 at Zen Bar in Plainville, CT.

I saw Pink Floyd at the OLD Palace Theatre in Waterbury, around 1971 , I think. It had a very early quad sound system. They did "Dark side of the Moon" in it's entirety, Echoes, and more. Extrodaniary!

Awesome! I saw Floyd in '94 in Foxboro, and Roger Waters in Hartford in '07 and '10.

We had a rehearsal of "The Dark Side of the Moon" yesterday. I'd love to cover "Echoes" someday. We'll be playing "Fearless" in the second set (along with a couple other Floyd tunes, plus Zeppelin, Dylan...)
