rock and roll-> ghost san fran
sally-> ghost spac
Sand-> ghost dicks
light-> ghost alpine
and this is a stretch but it was Ghost into that nasty boogie at dcu.
to put the record straight im not hating on any of the songs or selection choices i just noticed that for some reason the boys really love pulling it all out around ghost. hope it continues, can wait for msg!
I think its just an easy song for them to jam into because of its loose structure. However, it does seem to be the go to -> song from sick jams. Trey can strum the chords over just about any jam pretty easily and it works well for a nice -> segue and its easy for the rest of the band to jump onto. Its come up a lot but I'll take that over the overplayed Jam > Free crap, that's just way too predictable.
(And R&R > Ghost was at Long Beach, for the record.)
Its come up a lot but I'll take that over the overplayed Jam > Free crap, that's just way too predictable.Seconded, and I'd like to add > Twist to the list. 6/29 Sand, 7/4 Tweezer, 7/8 Light, 8/24 Sand, 8/29 Rock&Roll - all jams with potential, that segued into standard versions of Twist. I suppose I just got sick of Twist when listening back to this Summer's shows.
Thread title does not compute.
That said, you won't see me complaining about a Ghopener.

Although I would be a big fan if Trey brought back the delay loop intro.....
No such thing as too many -> Ghosts.This man speaks the truth! I would add, there needs to be more of the slow build Ghosts ala DCU.

No such thing as too many -> Ghosts.I really agree with this. Such an awesome song and concept. Played differently all of the time. Of of the best Sandy's of the tour were the product of good ghost placement.
Anything surrounding ghost is usually interesting. Too much of a good thing can simply be a really good thing.Too much of anything ain't good for nobody.
You better believe it, baby.
Bottom line: I can never be over saturated with Ghosts.
They must play Ghost every once in a while. It's part of the secret. Every so often the band feels an unexpected urge to profess the story. The story lets it loose, the repetition cements its legacy.
No such thing as too many -> Ghosts.came in to say exactly that. Ghost is such a great song to go to out of a sick jam when the vibes are running high. I feel like a Ghost is supposed to make an appearance after a great jam, like the spirit of the jam and the vibes of the band and the crowd summons the Ghost. I've never liked a "cold" Ghost - one that just starts from nothing with a snare hit from Fishman. It's got to come from something. It's got to be a hot Ghost.
The secret is that they could call upon the Ghost whenever they needed it. But now the Ghost needs them, and tends to emerge from the depths of other jams. The crowd plays an important role in summoning this mythical creature...
