Selling sports memorabilia questions

poonutties Permalink
poonutties I have Mickey Mantle and cal ripkin jr signed baseballs. No paperwork for them but I know they are real. If I take them somewhere to sell them how do I prove authenticity? Also anyone know a good place to look to figure out what I can realistically get for these balls? Thanks

I'm in the same situation I have a few autographs from the 04 Yankees team .. My uncle lived near Jason Giambi in the off season and got to know him. Only thing is the are actually addressed to me with my name on them can anyone point me in a direction on this I think it will hurt if I try to sell

JMarks1445 The Mickey Mantle ball could get anywhere from 250 to 800, possibly a little more. The Ripken one maybe 125 to 300 tops. Proof would obviously bring a higher price. There are people who can veryify the authenticity.

Yeah, personalized autographs hurt the value, but depending on who it is you could still get a good amount. Of course, as a Red Sox fan, I'm sure that you won't find a Yankee fan who wants anything to do with that '04 Yankee team, so it might be a hard sale.

Pweso81 PSA will authenticate anything. They even have something called PSA/DNA which they will use to verify extremely old autographs. I can't tell you what they charge but I can say that a PSA graded item is considered bullet proof to a collector.

I have a hat signed by 1999 PGA Championship Hat signed by Sergio Garcia, Phil Michelson, Corey Pavin (hard to see cause its on the navy blu bill in black ink) & Payne Stewart

Will PSA authenticate signed hats?

I am sure they will. I have a PSA/DNA Ben Hogan auto and I wouldn't have touched it with a 10 foot pole if it wasn't verified.

walstib I have a ball that says: Best Wishes - Jackie Robinson. It's real. I win.

Edit - Op - the advice about getting the PSA auth is the best. Look them up.

You can try SGC. That is PSA's main competitor. I have a bunch of T206 cards that have been SGC graded. They specialize in vintage cards tho. Not sure they have branched off into other areas yet.

yeah...it expensive, but you will get double with papers and it will sell easier... should be $120 to certify both signatures....
this site is selling them from 1000 and up certified balls

thats retail....you would get less unless you ebay'd them
