Wakey Wakey, Eggs and Backey .net. Had a fun time fun hanging out with @Ednaz last night, now it's back to life, back to reality. It might be Friday but for me it's Monday. Its monster mash time.
Foggy rather groggy. Gonna be slammed here today, but leaving early to head to MTL for the night.
Central Catholic plays USC in the second round of the AAAA playoffs. Here's hoping for a win!
@runawayjohn3: Where to you go to school?
@birmy
Thank you, I needed that this morning.
@runawayjohn3
I can't wait for the three day weekend. I only have to be on campus until noon and then I'm getting f***ed up! No not really, I'm going to rake leaves and mow the grass one more time.
Had a really fun night. Took a hula hoop dance class and met @denton757 out for some beers. I'll tell ya Led Zepplin can really make that hoop spin..
Can't wait to hear about TLG @mfhgreyboy.
...Took a hula hoop dance class..I hoop! I also make my own hoops! Was this your first time taking a class?
Two months of furlough is over. Im going back tomorrow We have some kind of emergency/rush job going on in lower manhattan.
I have less than 24 hrs to de-lazify my self.
We must have brought a few, but I dont remember them as prominently as at some of our crew's other excursions.
How long you been doing it @twisty_m? My wife really dove into hooping like 5 years ago or so. We made piles, gave a bunch away, bring them anywhere fun we are going.
GM.NUgh, @Slothberries. That sucks. I'd need at least a 48 hr turn-over time for that.

There is an acrobatic studio in Raleigh and they offer hula hoop classes. I'm taking hula hoop dance. This was our second class. They also offer hula hoop yoga, which sounds neato. We have been learning tosses and spins and doing all kinds of arm work with the hoop.

@johnnyd....A hurricane flooded the city last week. where ya been, brah?
@mathemagician a nice little kick in the pants.I was at a festival a few years back and some metal band opened the main stage at about 1130 on Saturday morning. It was awesome!
Morning all. I woke up this morning and all of the snow was gone. I also woke up with a killer headache and a nose bleed.Ummm, lay off the droogs?!?
After no school all last week, then a 3 day week this week, I am feeling the lazy bug.
I got snowed into a friends house on Wednesday night (purposfully) and spent yesterday drinking wine and watching a Sons of Anarchy marathon. It was glorious.
@_________________________ -- get a humidifier. Or cut down on the neti-k
and never put it down! Though, the first time I hooped at a show was this summer. I always have hoops in my trunk. Funny story actually: I've had these neighbors, 2 parents with their son, same age as mine. They've been playing together for years. The dad comes over a couple days ago to tell his son it was time for dinner. We get to talking, like all the times before, but this time it was about music. Turns out I've got a bunch of phish sticks living next door that go to shows every year too. He said his wife had her suspicions when she saw me toting hoops to my car one day this summer, bags packed, only to not return for a couple weeks.
@Ednaz If I'm ever in Raleigh I would so be down for taking a yoga hooping class!

Just a normal old Friday here.
Someone put a sign up at my gym right by the cardio machines that said "If you are still cute when you leave the gym you didn't work hard enough" I found it very amusing.
Thats all I got for now.

I've got a new baby at home (Henry, 11 weeks) and, I tell ya what bud, waking up and seeing that little guy is a pretty great way to start the day. Yeah, I've been waking up regularly around 5:30 for the past several weeks (with wake ups throughout the night, too), but it's all right. He's usually awake and alert and active in the morning and it's freaking adorable. And then I come to a job I don't like. And I look forward to going home all day... to wipe some butt and give cuddles.Isn't it nice when you look forward to coming home? Congratulations, a bit belated! Henry is the cutest damn name too!
Just keep it away from wood... If you have forced air, try to place in direct line that the heat comes out of.
Game changer."the only thing i worry about is my furniture. am i worrying for no reason?"
I boil a giant pot of water in the evenings, sometimes, and on the weekends when the season kicks up and I have to finally turn the heat on.

Thats the problem. I got wood! my bedroom set is 5 pieces of solid wood
@TheDeputy that was a nice read. As someone who is currently balls deep in raising teenagers it's good to reflect back on that time and remember why I'm doing this. And actually my kids are both pretty great, it could be a lot worse. Teenagers are not humans though...
Our son is almost a year and a half, I never once said "I can't untill...." in regards to him getting older but I am a much bigger fan the 1+ years than I was of the newborn months.
I love getting a hug when I get home then watching Harper carry my lunch bag around the house saying "work, work" or wanting to wear my tie.
Damn, is it 6 yet??
@birmy did you hit up Crossfit?
Teenagers are not humans though...hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best quote of the day
That is all.
@birmy did you hit up Crossfit?I cant imagine being a Dad
I did go over but no one was there at the time. It opened this week so they are still running around I guess, but I am going over after work, then a night ride and an IPA or two.
FRY
DAY
Yeah could go for some perch. anyways enough about my eating habits. I am currently preparing to go nuts on this day of tests. Have a good day everyone. I'm sure I will.
GM.NetMy inlaws just let a 17 year old family member house sit while they were in Mexico. His parents are only a few streets over and he is a good kid. What could go worng??

Starting less severe to more...
-Didn't even take the paper in. Left it on the porch
-left dirty dishes in the sink
-Slept in the main bedroom (specifically told not to)
-didn't change the sheets
-with friends drank a full handle of Jack and bottle of homemade khlua (was my father in laws)
- One of his friends puked in a drawer filled with clothes a left it there.
My in laws came home last Saturday at 1 am to find all of this.
Teenagers, got love em
When we first got there no one had any idea what to do with us and I was a bit worried about how this was all going to shake out. We just ended up calling the band manager Todd and he got us squared away. He's a really good guy and was making sure we had whatever we needed all night. I will say that he seemed pretty taken aback when I declined pre-show beers/whiskey. I thought that was kind of funny for some reason.
There really isn't much of a "backstage" per se. There was a green room, which was very small and a hallway that led to a door to the outside for smoking purposes. Essentially all you needed was a code to get through the security door from the lobby to the stage. I wonder if they change the code for every show? If not, I suppose I could just walk back there whenever. I'll have to give this more thought.
So we got to hang with the band for an hour or so pre-show and then again after the show for a while. We could pretty much just walk around on stage/green room/floor, wherever we wanted to go.
Took a ton of pictures, but I had my "real" camera so I have to wait until later before I can post any. I didn't get any of me with the band - it just didn't work out. I was looking out for an opportunity (and if I had asked I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem), but it just didn't "feel" right - especially after the show.
They signed a print I had from last tour (this one):
The band was very chill. I didn't get any "who are these guys, why are they here?" vibe. They were (or appeared to be) very sincere in their thanks for contributing to the kickstarter. Apparently, it wasn't an easy decision for them to do that at all. A little bit of reminiscing over shows I'd seen them at before (JC5, All Good '08, a couple of prior Philly shows). Very down to earth. Not "rock star" types at all.
Reed was showing us his editing of the tracks for the upcoming album. Pretty crazy software. It honestly most closely resembled an electrical schematic. I tried to act all impressed but I had no f***ing idea what he was talking about or attempting to show me. I was impressed with how much he thought I should be impressed, though. Apparently, the guy who is going to do the master for their new album is the guy who did Graceland for Paul Simon and they are pretty excited about this.
Talked with Josh for a while about his other artistic contributions (he did the art for a bunch of CD inserts as well as the print for this tour and others). He gave me a couple of free posters. Pretty cool. I couldn't find an image online so I'll have to take a picture tonight.
I asked Trevor if he wanted to smoke but he declined. He said he had to stop before shows "so he could start remembering the words to all these songs." That made me laugh.
Reed is definitely the "talker" in the band. We had conversations with everyone, but he was going a mile a minute. I think he had "help" although I saw nothing that could confirm this.
Phish only came up once. After the show I was outside with Reed smoking and started talking about them. Apparently, he had just played with Fish within the last few weeks on some side project. He hung with them after the BGCA shows. He's a pretty big fan and wasn't hiding it. Which I thought was pretty cool.
Overall, to be honest, it wasn't their best show musically. It was really good, don't get me wrong, but they've played better. Whatever. Win some lose some. It was still an excellent way to spend the evening for $100.
I tried to get in touch with @spreadheadjon, because it would have been really easy to get him backstage as well. Alas, I guess he doesn't spend his shows glued to .net PMs, and he didn't get my message until this morning.
TL;DR, suite blahg, etc., etc., etc....
GM.Net. Beautiful day here in the city of Philadelphia. Have the day off, haven't quite figured out what I am going to do yet.

I couldn't walk for days. Getting in and out of my car or walking down stairs is really hard to do straight legged.

Some dudes in my town went together and are starting up a brew pub with funds they generated via kickstarter. Great way to raise some cash.
