Hope it does the book justice. Fun read a couple summers ago.
No it murders the book! Fast zombies, not an oral history. Not really sure why they even named it after the book! but i'll watch it!
Yah very loose, but i loved the book, and Brad Pitt+zombies=cant losePlease explain this rationale to me sir.
Just got the book today...gonna try to start it tonight...Anybody else read this? I'm also amazed at the fact that Mel Brooks' son a best selling zombie book author..I've read it...twice. I'm a bit of a zombie-nut myself. Funny thing is, I used to be scared -sh*tless of them when I was younger. The Resident Evil video games scared the bejeesus out of me. Lots of sleepless nights over my zombie fear.
Now I can't get enough...the whole zombie apocalypse scenario really intrigues me. Makes you think WHAT WOULD YOU DO if sh*t hit the fan.
To answer your question though, great book. It's like a huge overhead shot of what the world would be like if a zombie apocalypse really happened. You get the viewpoint from the military, families on the run, vigilante type people, "celebrities", even some political fallout. Really interesting. The scope is huge - Brooks does a good job illustrating the worldwide cause-and-effect of the plague.

I've wrestled for some time with my feelings on movies or books that don't follow the unwritten zombie rules. Zombies that only attack at night (28 Days later), zombies that run (Dawn if the Dead remake) or zombies that can shoot a gun (the original Day of the Dead). I have a feeling this movie might not follow all of the rules either. That being said, can't wait to see it.
The zombies run...that's just not right man.I agree, but they look like they can fly almost on the WWZ trailer. It's like a tide of zombies. If they looked more realistic in their movements I'd be into this more. ymmv

Yes love both of Brooks books! but the movie really has little to do with the book from what ive read. I loved the whole oral history/pov element of the book! From what im hearing from some of my more... (for lack of a better term(but no lack of respect)) "geekier" friends the movie is getting really bad reviews.
I plan i watching it at my local drive inn acouple days after the 21st.
I hope its great but im hegd'n my bets
