I saw this guy at jazz fest a few years back. Live he just blows you away. He was with a trio and it was one of the best shows of the fest I think.

All the strings are duplicated except the G. I may be wrong about what you saw, but I know he uses the 11 string one. He's using it in this video, you can see the missing nub that would hold the string in place.
edit: @me_no_are_no_nice_guy he uses weird additions to his fingernails. Over time it must do some serious damage to the body.
