Happy B-Day Mr Vonnegut

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller My favorite writer of all time.

Slaughterhouse - 5 is one of the greatest literary achievments ever. "This is a novel somewhat in the telegraphic schizophrenic manner of tales of the planet Tralfamadore, where the flying saucers come from. Peace."

"So it goes"

This man was there for the fire bombing of Dresden; walked out on the opening of Scarface. I've read everything, wish I could of met him, poor bastard. Open a Vonnegut book instead of watching one hour of TV a day and your life will change.

Mr Bonnegut however, that guys no good.

Kurtzboy Happy birthday, to Mr. Vonnegut. My dad's favorite writing professor served with him in the war. The two were apparently great friends, to the point where Vonnegut spoke for the class. Afterwards, Vonnegut, the professor, my dad and a couple other students went out for pizza. I've always envied my dad that experience.

Very cool, 6 degrees of seperation. KV was dealing with PTSD with porn stars on alien planets before it was cool. Ha ha, may have a martini today for b'fast

As opposed to the first church of Icculus. Actually Icculus looked
Down on poor possum & choked Tela... and smiled
Aaaah Frack! (Been watching battlestar galatica, very metaphysical drama)

spanishmoon My favorite author as well. My 12th grade English teacher turned me on to him. She had us read Cat's Cradle, it was one of the best stories I had ever read. I continued reading most of the rest of his books after high school. He's very dark and imaginative, great author

mjrphishhead I know I'm a little late to the party but I just finished Slaughterhouse Five and it was just magnificent. Definitely one of, if not, my favorite book. This man's way with words and his message is purely awesome. What book of his should I read next?
