Good spelling and grammar probably go along with being better dressed. I'd bet heavily that there is a positive correlation.

That's an interesting theory. One that I would have to agree on; however, with the technological advancements dealing with communication it's hard to really pinpoint why the younger the generation the less apt they are to use English correctly. As technology advances in society with the use of social media and texting we are thrown into using short hand and trying to figure out better, faster ways to get our point across. I think that naturally one would get rid of unnecessary "fillers" in order to create more room for actual vocabulary. With Twitter you are given, what, 140 characters?
