15th Anniversary of Phish Fall Tour '97

WayIFeel Permalink
WayIFeel A.k.a Phish Destroys America!

The first set was a lot of fun but the second set is the monster. An amazing Stash and full throttle MikesGroove to send us out onto the Vegas strip.

I'm still convinced Kuroda created images of Jerry's face swirling around the arena during Hydrogen.

Vegas Baby!!!

November 13, 1997

Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV

Set 1: Chalk Dust Torture, Black-Eyed Katy[1], Theme From the Bottom, Train Song, Split Open and Melt, Beauty of My Dreams, My Soul, You Enjoy Myself, Character Zero

Set 2: Stash, Punch You In the Eye > Prince Caspian > Bouncing Around the Room, Mike's Song[2] > I Am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove[3]

Encore: Loving Cup

[1] Debut.
[2] Born on the Bayou teases.
[3] Brief Can't You Hear Me Knocking tease.

Notes: This show marked the debut of Black-Eyed Katy. The jam in Mike’s Song included Born on the Bayou teases and Weekapaug contained a brief Can't You Hear Me Knocking tease.

jerryguscia I'm listening to this show tonight...launching my campaign to listen to all of Phish Destroys America on their exact dates (I then plan to do the same with '98, then maybe '99 and '00)

Wise decision. I have a thing for listening to shows on their anniversaries. Just got done listening to the '98 UIC run for the first time, awesome shows.

I thought to do that afterwards...made me sad when I realized what the date was. I listened to 11/07 though, SICK show!

I'm pretty sure I've completed listening to all of Fall '97. My new campaign is listening to all my shows attended. So far '98 is my favorite batch of shows attended.

I think '98 was my best year for shows seen too. Part of it just boils down to the fact that I saw about twice as many shows that year than I did the previous year. Good times...

I can't speak for seeding, but the KP remaster of 11/19 on the spreadsheet is a really good one.

I'm also listening to the whole Fall 97 tour on a date-for-date basis. About to cue up the second set of Las Vegas as we speak. I don't think I've ever "done" a whole tour this way, and I'm very excited by the project.

I know exactly where you're coming from (this is also my first full tour [and I'm not listening to any '97 shows later than the one I'm at until I'm done]) and as a man just finishing the 2nd set...buckle up, dude. It's freaking incredible. Everything's so mellow, but shredding-ballstastic at the same time!

PM me if you wanna start setting up a chat-room or something so we can communicate how AWESOME these shows are in REAL-TIME!
