Gotta make coffee to go and I am on my way to the Derp.
I'll have my first cup of coffee around a quarter to 8, possibly some Taco Bell for lunch and then hopefully picking up later

johnnyd And derp again. Its so fast, and sudden, and thorough.
Just got the pop up that I have to shut down the 7 apps I just logged into and restart to run updates. Why did they stop doing this overnight?

@spencur6 - I had a horrendous throat problem my freshman year. Went to the student health thing multiple times over at least a month, and they were like, "nothing, you're a pussy, its a sore throat." I was miserable, couldn't eat, lost a LOT of weight (and I was really skinny back then), eventually went to the emergency room. They said "Why didnt you come in sooner, this infection is so bad you can literally die from it - soon." What it was is called a peritonsillar abscess; maybe tell your doc to look for that specifically.

Yeah, like men get less confident as they get older. Am I making enough money? Will I be a good father? Why is this woman with ME? etc.
The least sexiest thing about a man is a lack of confidence... and IMO, many men after 30 start to lose it.

Edit: Where as, again IMO, women seem to become more self assured and confident as they get older. They are no longer the dumb sluts they were in their 20s. They are usually professional, independent and need a man less

I think there are a few factors. Family pressure is one (ie: Why can't you find a nice girl and settle down" ;) Not joking -- I think hair loss and weight gain is another. These men that I see were most likely the guys who could f*** any chick they wanted. Those chicks smartened up, found a nice guy and left the HS QB to flounder. These men are not used to being denied. Confidence shaker.
Finally, I think many of these men never thought about their future in terms of settling down. And as the group of friends all get hitched and pop out babies, they find themselves in the minority and it worries them. Confidence shaker.

It kind of reminds me of this:

Since we are talking age and dating, I managed to date a string of crazy broads in their mid 30s when I was in my early 20s. So... yeah, bitches be crazy. These bitches were crazy. I think they didn't want to accept that they were starting to age and it made them feel better about themselves to be with a young guy, going out drinking/partying all the time.

Wow, I'm kind of surprised by this. As I said, I've got no single friends these days, but I would think that women are victims of these exact same hangups, just to an even higher degree (why can't you find a nice boy and settle down?, weight gain, loss of looks leading to being turned down, fear of "biological clock" issues).

Frankly, the married guys in my group of friends who don't have kids are NOT worried about it at all.

I think women figure out their wants and desires in their late 20s (most women know they want kids, where they want to live, what they want in a man, etc) At this point, they become fully aware of what they need to do to acheive those goals. So when you meet a woman in her early 30s who is still single, they usually have a decent paying job, their own apartment, nice clothes, etc... all of which they got on their own. In my experience, it takes a man a little bit longer to realize these things, so they tend to flounder a bit more...dating younger women, avoiding the big changes that are inevitable.
In my circle of friends, either they were married early (college sweethearts) or they went to the city, became successful and married a man WAY older than them (3 friends to be exact)

@cupuscakus I agree with you for the most part. I'm new to dating at 37 and the guys I've met are really pushy to get serious right away. I'm no where near wanting to settle down; I've played that game already. No kids, good job, my own home, and loving living alone with my cat(s). I've always thought that the stereotype of men getting better w/ age and women deteriorating has been true. I find that, in my case, it's not. I look better than I have in 10 years and my confidence has skyrocketed. I don't have someone doubting my every decision or questioning whatever I do.

But I love .net guys. Muah! xoxo
