Can anyone share the story behind this?

Wade Ellis Wilby gets a job working as a roadie for Umphrey's McGee. During a show, a naked tripping female jumps the barricade and attempts to unplug cables. Wade takes swift action by punching said female in the hands before restraining her. In the aftermath of the incident, Wade is 'forced to resign' from his position. With the connections in the scene made while working with UM, Wade manages to eek out a new persona, spinning the deepest of deep cuts as DJ Wyllys, and forms the New York Hustler Ensemble with his wife, Jennifer Hartswick (now divorced), and Natalie Cressman.

::Fast forward to early October::

Wyllys books a gig DJing a wedding, for which he is payed approximately $3000 up front. The night before the wedding Wyllys attends City Bisco, presumably consumes many substances, and makes social media posts indicating his dread for having to perform at the wedding the next day. Wyllys never makes it to the wedding, and instead makes up a story about being in a car accident, which he claims occured at a location which would not have been on his route from Philadephia to the wedding, had he actually been driving there. The groom is forced to DJ his own wedding, and is subsequently unsuccessful in attempts to contact Wyllys.

A friend of the groom then brings the story to PT. PT jumps to action; photoshops, memes, spamming of Wyllys' Facebook, and questionable thread moddings ensue. Other questionable incidents from Wyllys' past come to light including talking shit to Tom Marshall on Twitter for posting Phish tracks on soundcloud and flashing obscene hand gestures to a member of the Disco Biscuits. All sources indicate unprecedented levels of douchebaggery.

Wyllys begins threatening legal action against Facebook spammers, saying that their name has been added to the 'lawsuit', and then clarifies that the lawsuit is being taken out against the groom for slander, and that the Facebook user's names and posts will simply be used as evidence. Wyllys is then presumably informed by his attorney that he has no case, and he deletes said comments. Wyllys then issues an 'apology' on his Facebook, complete with strange comments about a 'person who doesn't exist anymore', and the revelation that he had worked things out with the groom and had implemented a 'payment plan' to repay the $3000 that was given to him up front, which he presumably had already blown.

Meanwhile, PT threads, photoshops, memes, and Facebook spamming continue. Then, Hurricane Sandy hits, Wyllys goes Valium > Coors Light> Full Melt Mode, threatens to kill someone's whole family, flips out on some dude named Peter, claims that his 2013 schedule is 'blowing up,' and continues to not pay back any of the $3,000.

Epic PT'er aaudie makes a giant Publisher's Clearing House style check for $3k made out to Wyllys and brings it to Wyllys' set at Bear Creek. Wyllys does not give a reaction, but aaudie leaves the check by his DJ table, so we can be all but certain that Wyllys saw it at some point.

PT continues it's relentless assault.

Crazy question. Did the groom try small claims court?

People get f'ed over on wedding stuff all the time. Upfront money goes bad with construction all the time too. We have a system for dealing with it and it has nothing to do with Facebook or the internet. From what I'm reading this should be a pretty easy case to win. All this online stuff can only help the DJ if he does counter.

What people do to others is their Karma. How you choose to react is yours.
