anyone doing any serious black friday shopping?
Can't say I'm gone for the holiday yet (I will be on .net on thanksgiving) and black friday is something I have done once and may never do again. It was fun but this year I lack the motivation to do it I have a bunch of other stuff to do this weekend. But yeah had this crazy dream I went to NYE last night...not sure how i got tickets.
The long weekend can't come fast enough.
GM.Net
GM.net.....where is everybody??
This is my companion during the sprint to Thursday, at least for now. Wolfman!!
Trying to catch up from all the slaking these last two weeks; my boss left and we have been unattended. This morning my second level has taken her place. I feel iron eyes staring holes into my head through my puter. We get a new boss someday soon, but till then...yikes. i wonder why someone two states away can incite such fear. Oh well, it's early, I'll be back to my slackin' self by 10am, I'm sure.
Black Friday...

God I love the studio version of Undermind. So funky.
Homeward bound today. It will be nice to be in the 860 again.
I am off tomorrow and Thursday. Very rare two days off in a row! I do work Friday and Saturday which sucks.
My buddy @HortensetheMuleFacedDoll got in from Chicago last night. Gonna chill tonight. Not sure whats up yet but watching 8/31/12 (thanks to @mfhgreyboy) is a possibility.
@mattsox94 where you from in CT? If you don't mind me asking.
Also, I LOVE Thanksgiving!
No on black friday. Looks like the weather is going to be really nice, hoping to spend as much time as possible outdoors.
I went out Sunday night to see Van Ghosts (w Jen Hartswick) and The Revivalists... got to sit in on an interview.
Interesting time at Dylan last night.
I enjoyed Mark Knopfler quite a bit more than I thought I would. He's a good frontman, with an excellent "storyteller" vibe and it's clear he surrounds himself with VERY talented people. I wouldn't call this a complaint, but his sound is so atmospheric that, at times, it almost felt like I was listening to a movie score. Lots of head bobbing, and even a little toe tapping.
Dylan. It was great to see him. "Voice" of a movement. Historical. But, and this is nothing new, his voice is brutal. Always has been, but he now sounds like some Frankensteinian amalgam of Yoda and Timmy.
And the crowd was weird. I've been in plenty of shows where people sit. I've never been at a show of this size where the entire audience just sat and watched. No lights to speak of. Maybe it's me, but music without dancing makes me kind of.......bored? IDK. Is that blasphemy?
He played a good set, although I have no idea what his other shows have been like to compare:
You Ain't Goin' Nowhere
It's All Over Now, Baby Blue
Things Have Changed
Tangled Up In Blue
Early Roman Kings
Chimes Of Freedom
Rollin' and Tumblin'
Desolation Row
Highway 61 Revisited
Mississippi
Thunder On The Mountain
Ballad Of A Thin Man
Like A Rolling Stone
All Along The Watchtower
Blowin' In The Wind
Glad I went. Won't be going back. It's clear that while I can listen to Bob...I don't hear Bob. And that's ok with me.
Speaking of blasphemy, I probably wouldn't go see Dylan unless given a free ticket. To a local show. By someone I really like hanging out with.
Mark Knopfler on the other hand, I'd like to see.
I wouldnt mind going and checking out music seated in a comfy cushioned seat in a nice theater. I'd actually like it. Cant really get Em on board for jazz or orchestral or similar type stuff though. But I've been really wanting to spread out. We've got the Flynn up here as a great resource too.
I saw Dylan with Phil and Friends back in 99-00(?) in New Haven. I was not blown away by Dylan but like you said it was cool to see him. I had a great time with some fungus on that night so I remeber the night fondly
@birmy & @Jayem -- This is a new free magazine in CT-- http://groovemag.com/I wish NH was closer to me.

@birmy & @Jayem -- This is a new free magazine in CT-- http://groovemag.com/Jen Harswick tweeted about this show but not until a few hours before it was happening. I may have checked it out. Thanks for the link.

The morning couldn't go by any slower. Excited to head home on Wednesday to drink beers with my Dad- he's a Budweiser sort of guy, and knows I'm getting really into craft beer, and he asked to bring him some of my favorites so he can try 'em out. I'm excited.
Pizza, tacos, sandwich, soup, chinese?
Some from column A, some from column B...?
I'm so excited.
What are you bringing, @DriedupGoliath?
I forgot to bring lunch today. The world is now my oyster.

Lobster stuffed with tacos?G' morning everybody.
Oh, and to answer @KimboSlice's original question, our turkey generally goes in around 9:30 or 10:00 AM.
If I hit the derp super hard today, I don't have to do anything tomorrow. Now I'm just going to walk around repeating that and hopefully it will work out.
You hangin' at the D estate?
View "not safe for work"
@johnnyd - everytime i hear "in soviet Russia...." i think of you and not the Simpsons anymore. Good work.
But I'm pulling from a comedian, Yakov Smirnoff. I don't think that's his real name.
I've seen Bob Dylan once and I thought it was awesome. The buddy I went with did, too. he's seen him a few times and has commented that the other shows have not been so great. it seems to have something to do with the sound quality. I saw him in a small ballpark in lowell or northampton, MA... one of those two towns I think. And, the sound was awesome. open air, good mix, great band. The sound quality did the trick.
Yup. Livin large in lower/middle management.
Nice analysis.Signed. I would love to see Knopfler especially if I could get a time machine and see early 80's Dire Straits.

Just about go time. Strategy is to check on the sandwich specials and soups of the day at 2 different delis, then the taco specials at the taco shop, then make a decision on the fly. Not ruling out mixing and matching from 2 or more different eateries. Maybe just for the sheer arrogance of it all.Must be nice to be working in a capitol city like Hartford, CT with all those options.

Princess Bride is one of the best scored movies ever. All the little musical accents... accent... the comedy and action so perfectly.

There's a lot of negative stuff said about Antelope Greg. Here, he's trying to do something really good for child victims of Sandy. Say what you want about him, this is a good deed.
He even answers some questions (accusations?)...
Sorry if this offends anyone, take it down if it does.
I forgot to bring lunch today. The world is now my oyster. He'll be trying out a Founders Breakfast Stout, a Victory Storm King Imperial Stout, a Blue Point Toasted Lager, an Oskar Blues Old Chub, a Troegs Hop Back Amber Ale, A Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, A Southern Tier 2XIPA, and a St. Bernardus Abt 12. Hope he likes 'em.
