Does anyone know how Paypal really protects you? If I make an account that I don't plan on using again, what's Paypal going to do if I say you're lying about the tickets being fake?
Why does $550 for 4 tickets seem impossible for everybody? That's above face value. It's low for scalpers, but maybe this guy just isn't trying to make a ton of money. Ticketmaster transfer is pretty safe afaik
those tickets are worth more than that
phans dont go to craigslist to help out other phans. id drive to his house and pick up the tickets...
LOL @ ANYONE who would consider making this deal. Have you checked stubhub lately? The worst seat in the house is going for 250. Selling tickets on stubhub is way too easy (not that I've scalped, just sporting events etc). So why on earth would this guy who has these so called NYE tix go through the trouble of dealing with western union or money transfers when he could simply list them on stubhub and get way more out of it. I just had a friend get ripped off 400 bucks this same way, via ticketmaster transfer, and that was 400 for 2 NYE tickets. 550 for 4 NYE's is just a flat out scam.

Hope you get ripped off, n00b.
Could someone please explain how its possible to be ripped off via Ticketmaster transfer? I was under the impression it was completely safe and was the best way to sell tickets...

Way to be part of the scalping problem.
I don't know why everyone thinks this deal is "too good to be true" he's still paying substantially over face. If the person is willing to do the ticketmaster transfer before getting the money, I don't see how you could get burned on this OP.
Good luck!

Craigslist explicitly states not to EVER use Western Union, as it's constantly used as a scamming tool because of the limited protection that they offer. So as long as he's willing to accept money through PayPal, there is literally nothing to worry about. This sounds much more reasonable then giving some random dude $250 in cash and getting a printout ticket.
I've seen the functionality, its simple. On the ticketmaster info page for your event there is a link that allows you to transfer the tickets. My thoughts exactly on everyone freaking out over this. Pay him through PayPal, and if the dude doesn't transfer the tickets within a day or two, then call up PayPal and get your money back.

I think everyone is just upset about the whole NYE run situation. I took my time to check this dude out and the ticketmaster transfer system. Didn't like it, did not do it. I posted this thread because there has never been a thread about this ticketmaster system, I figured it would not only help me but give others information on the system. All of you who jumped down my throat, why do you come on .Net? To be obnoxious and rude? That's sad. Thanks to all of you with helpful post. I'm done starting threads and posting on this site for awhile. You've all been so helpful through my times of hardship, and I want to thank all of you for that. Good luck with your shows everyone and happy holidays! PibbsGood luck with your shows too! FWIW, I enjoy reading your posts so don't go away for too long
Lets say I bought two tickets for NYE via TM and got hard stubs. They mail me the tickets and I have them in hand.
Now I go onto my TM account, transfer the tickets to a friend (or some other fake account I set up that I can access).
Once they accept the tickets, my order is voided and the tickets are garbage and the person who got the transfer now has new tickets to print at home.
BUT, you still have those hard TM tickets that are now voided. Sure they wont scan, but they are still a REAL TM ticket with all the correct info.
WHAT is stopping some douche bag from transferring the tickets to his other account, and then selling the NOW VOIDED tickets for above face, or even for face outside the venue, or on ebay/craigslist. Unless you called (which you should always do) and made sure the tickets were valid, there would be NO way of knowing they are fake because they aren't fake, just voided.\
Be careful, this transfer thing could turn into one BIG scam.
I just thought of a pretty messed up scam that could definitely work, even with TM hard stubs that people may want to keep an eye out for.I would think that if the person that ended up with the voided out tickets went to TM and they said they were sold or given to them, they would tarnish your account with TM (the one where you had a valid credit card) and could black list you/your valid CC for future sales...

Sure you may get over once, but it would catch up to you in the long run if you tried it multiple times....Plus, they (TM) could file charges against you as the original ticket holder for not destroying the tickets in the first place...(i'm sure that would be a clause within the agreement of the transfer)
