I think about all the good things I could do with that kind of money. My wife and I talk about this kind of thing all the time. First and formost, I would quit my job (as would my wife) and I would invest whatever the required amount of money is to live off of interest for as long as possible. Then, I'd sock away some cash for my kids' college educations. I would sell my current house and build a new one someplace cool with a lot of land (not sure where, but staying here in Austin would be fine with me, but Boulder, CO has long been one of my dream locations - and this was even before legalization). My wife and don't like big houses, so I am thinking a nice log home in the mountains or by a river or lake. After the move, I would build myself a nice little recording studio. I would probably just bring in bands and record them for free or rent it out for cheap when I wasn't working in it myself. I also would like to run a recording school for disadvantaged teenagers (to be be clear, I don't think recording is a very lucrative profession to go into, but music and recording are interests for many teens and learning how to work in a studio teaches problem solving while also giving then a place to be safe and express themselves creatively aside from just being fun as shit). Next step is to hire a nurse/patient advocate/personal assistant who would help me with taking care of my type I diabetes on a day-to-day basis, something that I have struggled with since I was 25 (I am 39 now). Then, working with my financial advisors, I would establish funds for various charities focusing on education and helping homeless youth. After that, it's travel time. I would probably spend a month or so at a time renting apartments in various locations around the world with my family: London, Venice, Florence, Mexico City, Amsterdam, etc, etc. Of course, you bet your ass that I would see as many Phish shows that made sense (travelling a lot would, at times, conflict with Phish tours and I don't think I would miss out on Venice for anything). In general, my live music consumption would go way up since I wouldn't have to worry about travel expenses - just my own schedule and desire to consider.

I'd save a cool mill for non Phish related activities...
